My channel is all about sewing with a serger, sewing machine, machine embroidery and my Etsy shop. I created this channel to share my love of sewing, crafting and embroidery. I started sewing when I was in eighth grade. I will provide tips, tricks, and how-to tutorials on these machines to get maximum enjoyment and minimum frustration with your sewing projects .
I do recommend certain items in my show notes pertaining to sewing. I have affiliate links in the show notes in all of my videos. I do recommend products that I personally use or are very close to products that I use and recommend.
I'm have been a beginner for two years, and mastered a few things, but now want to start with making my own tops, skirts, etc. Thank you for explaining the correct way to use the Singer dress form. I purchased it on sale at Joann's. Thank you again! 🪡✂🧵
I have recently purchased a used Topaz 40. This is my first embroidery machine. I have watched a lot of videos to figure out how to use it. Can you please tell me how to set my machine for automatically cut the jump stitches?
I’m sorry, but that is not right. You are not supposed to have that raw edge show on the opposite side. Your needle should be straddling that raw edge to completely cover it up and you’re supposed to go in with your tweezers pull it out clip it and then jerk it to the back to lock it in place.
I was thinking the same as you as when you launder the finished piece it would fray. It doesn’t look professionally finished as it is there. I certainly wouldn’t be happy with that at all and neither would my customer
Hi if I add text for example a name, and I want to add an object like a crab on the side, why is it centering in the middle of the text and the crab instead of the name in order for me to guide myself and center the name to a cap ?? I need help please
Hi! Thank you for your question. If you wanted to put the name next to your embroidery file, you could rotate your hoop, orientation, or you could rotate your embroidery font and rotate the embroidery picture file. I am not certain if this type of capability is available in the free version or not. I hope this helps!
Hello! I have used cotton to line the vinyl. Sew it down with just a straight stitch. I also use the free stop liquid on the edges. It seems to hold up well.
Thank you, this video was short and straight to the point which I prefer. and very helpful. Is this dress form/model adjustable in the body length, ie nape to hip??
I just bought some scrubs at a yard sale. I didn't get to try them on...so it was just guessing that they would fit. I overestimated...they are too big. I think I will try this with one to and see how it goes
Hi! Thank you for your comment! I am not familiar with the Brother V3. It is not sold in my country. It looks like a very nice machine. The MB 4 is a four needle machine and the Brother V3 is a one needle machine. I do have a brother, PE 800. It is a good machine with a 5” x 7” embroidery area. It has been very reliable.
Hello! Thanks for your question. No, I did not create a pattern piece. Perhaps in the future, I may be able to. If I do, I will respond to this message.
So sorry! I checked it and fixed it. I bought this one. This is the one from my videos. I will go back and change it in all of my videos. Thanks for letting me know! amzn.to/3oSvXiT
Thank you! I just got one today, I have all of the measurements except for the lengthening or shortening the waist. It tells me that I have to go underneath and turn something but I'm really unsure how to do that.
Hello! Yes, you are able to lengthen the torso up to approximately 2” longer but not shorter on the small/medium Singer 150 dress form. When you are on the inside of the form, there is a while pole that extends from the neck down through the center of the form. At the end of the white pole, there is a pink plastic overlay with 3 notches with a red adjusting handle over the pink plastic overlay with 3 notches with spaces for the notches to catch on. You need to move / turn the red adjusting handle to move up the notches to increase the length of the torso. Be very careful when adjusting it. I suggest putting it in a sofa or bed. It’s not easy and it takes a bit of muscle to adjust it.
@@sewingwithmaryrose Thank you, I've got it all adjusted except for the neck and I still have to raise it 2cm for the height but it's all pretty exact right now. I'm just 5'2 inches.
Hello! You could tape the bottom bar and then tape the top bar to the bottom bar to prevent it from slipping down. You could use wide packing tape so it will hold up. I hope this helps.
Hi! You could try putting a rubber band right below the area on the pole you want it to stay and tape it with wide clear tape so that the tape is on the top and bottom and covers the tape. I hope that works for you.
@@sewingwithmaryrose Thank you I really need this information and I just can not find it on the Ytube I was excited to find you and then I just could not hear it, I hope you don't think I was being ugly. I was just letting you know. Have an awesome day.
@@1954evelyn No offense taken! I hope I had my close captioning on that video. When I get to a computer I will double check and make sure that it is on for this video and all of my other videos. I hope it is helpful for you. I really do love my dress form. You just have to be very careful with it and open each section a little at a time so it does not break. The plastic is on the lightweight side but it has been very durable for me.
@@barbarameehan113 it’s always nice to have a back up machine. Sometimes I have all three of my embroidery machines going at the same time. The brother machines have all been very reliable for me.
I bought this same machine for my granddaughter about three years ago for her birthday. Also bought the bag. She loved it. It's a beautiful Machine and perfect to learn how to sew.
can you go step by step. like how you started with the design and how you actually set all the steps in embrillance. I have embrillance and the emboss design. Never used it because not sure. So it would be great to see a little more details on that part. Thanks
Hi Valerie! Thank you so much for your question. I have this video that shows you how to load a design onto your USB stick. How to Use Embrilliance Essentials with Text Lettering Tutorial for Beginners ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NfD5z5OhttQ.html I hope this helps!
The Merrowly program automatically uses a patch edge. If you wanted to do a satin stitch edge, you could create that without Merrowly by just using Embrillance Stitch artist. There are 3 levels of stitch artist. I could make a future video on how to make a patch with satin stitch edge 😊. Thanks for your comment!! With Merrowly, you may be able to remove the patch edge and replace it with a satin stitch. I will have to try it!!
Thanks for the feedback! I will do more patch making videos in the future. I recently upgraded to stitch artist 3, so I will be able to more with Merrowly. I will definitely do more videos on this topic 😊
Hi Mario! Thanks for your question. If you put a piece of masking or painter’s tape where you want the design to be that will be your target. You could lower the needle to make sure that the design is exactly where you want it to be. In the future, I may create another video to show how I did that.
