I remember very distinctly back in 1.6, when I had no idea how to play online, or speak and read english properly yet, on the map that became Aztec today, playing against bots. I remember that I planted, and that I didn't know I was the only T left. There were 3 CT's that rolled up on me, with shields deployed. Now, I did not know the shields would be, you know, an effective defense. Wasted my entire mag, and a fourth CT (maybe a fifth too) rolled up from behind the shield wall and nailed me like a dog. I was angry about it at the time, but man if it isn't funny to remember now.
Something that was also extremely broken were the Revolver when it came out and arguably the pre-nerf AWP aka kennyS meta. I also remember being able to fly away on the pigeons on Train but that was just funny.
I'm so nostalgic for 24/7 office in CS:S. The amount of grenades flying down the hallways and scattering furniture made for such a fun and chaotic experience.
The shield was one of the best things that happened to CS, sad they just removed it instead of tweaking it. If you can't kill your opponent, then the only way was to either out maneuver him (emphasize on movement), or ask a teammate to shoot him from the back (teamwork). But the playerbase wanted none of that, they just wanted headshots and prefire. Sad.
I hate bh in cs2, I wasn't that bad at it in csgo, now I can't even hit a few hops consistently, no just the bh the all subtick thing just makes all the movement feel weird
macro doesnt do that much since you have a 50% chance of hitting each bhop so even if you click the jump at the perfect time you wont be able to hit that many
Remember buying the XM in a Wingman game, reminded me a lot of the old Judge meta in Valorant so I decided to try it out when my team was buying but I couldn't afford a rifle, it was bonkers, preforms really well on maps like Vertigo so I was very happy with myself for finding out on my own
