Zbigniew Borowicz (Mr. Zbig) won the first place in the F.Gregora International Double Bass Competition of Czechoslovakia (1984) and the Montreal's young professional artists series « Début » (1988). His teacher were E.A.Kolosov from the Moscow Conservatory of music, L.Streicher, G. Karr, E.Levinson. He was a soloist with many orchestras (19), including among others the Polish Chamber Orchestra, I Musici of Montreal and the Kingston Symphony. Mr. Zbig also gave numerous recitals on four continents (Germany, Brazil, Japan and Canada). Very actif soloist, he gave the recitals in five ISB Conventions at the University of Bloomington, Iowa, Indianapolis, Richmond and Rochester. Being invited by the BassEurope, he played the recitals in Copenhagen and Amsterdam. He teaches at the Laval University and College of Ste-Foy (chair).
