Pulling a permit in California means it adds value to your home and your property taxes will be raised based on the increased value. This is fact not guess work.
Are manufacturers watching? Yes agreed on the physical part. I disagree overall tho. The worst part of a remodel is finding out your customer is the crazy lady.
I wish I had read the instructions before I use that crap...... my fingers were glued together for several days I had to pick and pick and pick to get all that freaking foam off😂😂😂😂😂
They want permits to collect monry and then raise your taxes because an improvment increases your homes value. They want EVERY single cent from you. I've been an electrician for 25 years and it annoys me when customers want permits. Ok, its going to be weeks of not months to do this. Oh and its going to be double the price 😂😂😂
When my employee asked if i wanted to take off the shower curtain rod the other day to do a patch above a tub, and i said no itll be quick..hit my head on it atleast 5x 😂. Hitting your head on a ceramic finial on a low hanging chandelier so hard your teeth chatter is real fun haha
Get an Allen key screwdriver with the ball at the end. You can lean your hand away from the wall and run those screws rt in. That shit is annoying. Toss those shit mini spirals they come with, over your shoulder and just keep a box of the good big spirals around. They bite better, don't strip out as easily and can hold up to more abuse. Pre drill the hold the size of the shaft of the anchor, maybe a little smaller. Make sure it's just at or below the surface of the drywall.
It's funny to me that people think building inspectors get paid enough to care. Well, they don't. Permits are nothing but a money-grab by the city to drive up the tax value of your home.
Go ahead and do your project without permits. Then see how well the insurance company pays out in a loss event. I require all necessary permits and licenses , where required, when some does a project on my house. I require them To show proof of liability and WC and certifications when required.
There is a time and place for building permits. Building permits and building departments are just another cog in the wheel of government agencies existing just to give someone a job. You have to get a permit for a new house, no brainer. You have to get a permit for a major addition. All these bathrooms and kitchens getting remodeled, the government can suck it.
I remember waiting six months in lane county Oregon to get a permit to build a covered deck. They had everything they needed but still six months. I went in for a plan approval conference with the county engineers and they sat there passing my plans around the table saying, yes, it’s a covered deck and everything looks good. It still took me another 2 months to get the permit and they charged me 600.00. Could not believe it.
Losing set screws is such a stupid reason to get called back just to put a faucet handle or towel rack back on. Waste of time and money. Pro tip on Amazon you can get a whole pack of set screws with every size you would need. I keep that on my van in case I lose them because they're so f****** easy to lose. Also I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed I tend to be a little clumsy with that s***.
Always get permits unless you are working on your own home and know that a permit isn’t required. Especially is electrical or plumbing is involved. If your/clients house burns down or you flood it there will be no insurance. If it costs more then so be it. If that means your client can’t afford the job then find another client. Don’t take unnecessary risks that that leave you exposed to legal liability just to save a few bucks.
You don't really know the hight of the tile floor when used with the tile cement. Whoever think this is the right way to do it he/she is nuts. Usually the guy who does the plumbing doesn't set the tiles.
