Prima volta che vedo un Animatic Clavitist con le percussioni integrate nella medesima cassa del pianoforte, usualmente erano in un mobile a parte. Si sa di che anno esatto sia?
yes, there is a pneumatic reader that detects the presence of holes in the cardboard and activates valves that open the passage of air to the respective pipes. The air is generated with bellows operated by the crank (while the cardboard is progressing)
@@unforgettable256 in the trackerbar with keys there are levers that detect the holes in the cardboard mechanically. Without keys there are holes in the trackerbar that detect the holes in the cardboard pneumatically
I don't think so: the instrument was already in the Collection at the time of this book (1980). He has certainly been part of it since long before www.libroco.it/dl/aa.vv/Tipografia-Musiani/isbn/Guida-introduttiva-agli-strumenti-musicali-meccanici-Collezione-Marino-Marini/cw226453957968268.html
@@andreatrolese3604 Why would you go through all of trouble to build a contraption that is difficult to operate and produce terrible music in a short strip of music that has a limited timeframe? It’s evident that this method wasn’t very popular in favor of other designs.
It is a pleasure to listen to Prof. Pietro Zappalà who with expertise, savoir-faire, and irony conveys passion and culture in an easy way that can be appreciated by all. Thank you Pietro for your important role of academic insight and dissemination of mechanical music!
È stata davvero una lezione piacevole. Un nuovo modo di ascoltare Puccini. Una storia della riproduzione sonora, anche italiana, ben collocata nel periodo storico.
Puccini would turn in his grave hearing his music 'performed' like this. Before doing a presentation like this it is advisable to learn how to play the pianola first. There is NO use of dynamics in this performance, not by pedalling and not by the use of the expressison levers, also there does not seem to be any variation in tempo, all in all making this a very un-musical representation of the music on this pianoroll. This is absolutely NOT how this roll was intended to be played.
Certainly a good pianolist would be able to give more emphasis to the performance (even better a good pianist or orchestral performance rather than piano rolls, Puccini would be even happier), but perhaps it is even more difficult to introduce and explain what is a player piano and pianorolls to those who have not heard nothing before MP3s or CDs. Instead here it was explained very well, fascinating even a young audience. Who knows, maybe in the future we will be able to listen a live duet of exceptional pianolist performances with excellent historical and verbal explanations...
@@FLAVIOPEDRAZZINI Demonstrating the instrument in this way creates a certain image for the audience who is not familiar with the instrument. They therefore form an incorrect image of the possibilities of the instrument, which may prevent the need for preserving the pianola from being fully understood. In my experience, the pianola is too often seen as a 'fun' toy rather than a serious musical instrument. This does not do justice to the historical importance of the instrument.
It would be nice if something could be added on to it that would automatically make it run when it is on instead of someone having to turn a wheel to make it run.
Please help , my Ariston organette have nr 5,6 and 8 reeds broken . A diagram of the notes . I have replacement reeds from a old cord organ but i dont know the corect notes
Does your Ariston organette have 24 notes (like the most common ones)? The 24 note scale, from the lower note (which is the one in the center of the disc) is: 1 - A (G#) 2 - B (A#) 3 - D (C#) 4 - E (D#) 5 - A (G#) 6 - B (A#) 7 - C# (C) 8 - D (C#) 9 - E (D#) 10 - F# (F) 11 - G# (G) 12 - A (G#) 13 - B (A#) 14 - C# (C) 15 - D (C#) 16 - D# (D) 17 - E (D#) 18 - F# (F) 19 - G (F#) 20 - G# (G) 21 - A (G#) 22 - B (A) 23 - C# (C) 24 - D (C#) It may be tuned half a step lower, in this case the notes in parentheses
This is a selection from la tratiavita. Two of the three acts are on my channel as piano rolls. If you listen to them both you should hear this melody at some point. I'm still working on part three, but it will come soon😊.
