Dont keep casting in same spot plus what u were usinv was perfect use the right braid to monofilament ur lighter spinner will go the same if not more likly futher and they will take smaller one easier 👍😎
Looks like a very good fishery , You must always wonder why a good place like this has only 3 or 4 Comments ? … Probably due to the hideous background music , or should I say Background NOISE .. it does nothing to promote the place
@@castnorthangling5964 purchased think I got the only one available 😂 thanks mate keep you posted on the results looks like it will produce some lovely pike
Its like a mini 'red gill' I use for pollock. I would fish them like them I think , just a steady retrieve finding what speed / colour works for the day?
Got that SG2 Power rod in both spin and cast, so much liked by me. Havent even fished the spin 7'3"50-100g rod since i got the 7'3* 70-130g casting rod wit either Curado 201M or my Tatula 300. Soo much more fun pike fishing with baitcasters! These two reels, i dont notice any missing distance against my spinning rod with the latest Revo X 4000 on. I just cant imagine spin fishing anymore, why i dont know, really. Something with the better control i think.
First time out pike fishing yesterday, was using the xrap peto for 1 hour and had 1 pike. Switched to this savage gear perch and had 4 pike within 2 hours and missed 2.
Great to see the change. How do they work it, do you need to keep the fish in the sling, and the stewards drive out to you? As you say the next move would be to measuring. Lewis
Yes fish is kept in a retaining sling over the side of the boat in the water and you must wait on the weighing boat coming to you, usually never more than 5 or 10 mins away
Absolutely, these are things I'm sure they are talking about, it would allow for a larger area to fish, less chance of cheating etc ect, this is the first year they have stopped the blue barrels completely so progress is being made. It was a good competition
Fish your dry flies upstream lad.. mend line and gather the slack up as it comes back to you, to ensure drag free drift.. you will have far more success ..you were mostly fishing downstream.. that's how ya fish wet flies... Keep her kit lad! Hard d bait the fly!
A super video, I enjoyed watching that. Testing conditions for sure. I’ve never done a boat competition…it was like a scene from Miami Vice when everyone was blasting away to take the lead and get their favourite spot 😀 Well done to yourself and Dave on getting 3rd place, it was a super fish. There was a lot of effort made so success was well deserved 👍
Cracking video pal just love perch I was lucky enough to catch a beast of a perch last week touching 40 cm on float fished roach head it was fat full of spawn tbh I was fishing for Zander Love watching your videos thanks 👍🏼
Don't completely agree with it myself, the only reason I got it was because it's allowed in most competitions like the World championships, so it was a case of get it or get left behind
Great video my friend, good to see some NI fishermen’s videos on here we’re a bit underrepresented. Gonna be over at home for a few weeks I work in England I’m from Maghera. Was wondering if you know some good pike fisheries in NI or the border counties. I’ve heard Lough Erne is good but I don’t have access to a boat. Was up at the Bann canals in January and it was totally abysmal fishing. Not a bite during 3 days of mackerel dead baiting and spinning with one of my mates. Never had a worse pike fishing experience, lough Neagh and the Bann are clearly not right. It’s a really stark change, I had a 17lb Pike out of the Bann when I was younger.
