I was in Lamai in February 1988, amazing place, only one Hotel there the Flamingo, everything else just beach bungalows, paradise, never experienced anything like it, probably never see a little place like old Lamai ever again.
Spooo schön.Thailand ohne Russen und Chinesen, Strände ohne Liegen, das war noch Paradies. Ab Mitte der 90 kamen die Heuschrecken und alles war vorbei.
at 00:43 I drove on that very narrow broken bridge in 1987 many time a day with a Yamaha DTLC as it was this the only way to go to the hotel where we were only two couples. In 1988, still sleeping at Karon beach, I was taking this dirt-track with a suzuki samuraï to go to Patong beach from time to time. In 1998 the road was tarred and Thaï people were already tired from all those strangers. Thanks a lot for those images.
I was there in 1983, in honeymoon with my Thai wife, wonderful, paradise, clear and blue water, very cheap (bungalows 50 baths on the beach, fried rice 10 baths) no problems to smoke ganja, but that was before, now !!!. 🤔😔🏝️
Great vid thanks. I was there in 1984 it was paradise bangla had about 15 bars it was the best place to be on the planet . Travelled in Thailand for 36 years love the country and the thai people, but it will never be as good as the early 80s.
I am so mad at myself for not knowing or being aware of traveling to places such as this. I could have done it back in 1988. Gosh I would have loved it. I love Thailand now after 14 trips!
Used to be nice but not now, so commercialized. The Thai foods served in the restaurants are expensive and not authentic, coz lots of cooks are from Myanmar.
