Hi, How come you put a fly lead on the banjo at both ends? I thought you only needed it at one end as the armour is earthed from the one banjo as it is continuous? Tks
Im having one fitted soon. I dont want it to go to the old consumer unit cos it means pulling up floors. Is it straight forward to fit a seperate consumer unit if the main fuse is easy to access?
agree with the other comments re cable run... should be positioned along the lower brickline plus I'd have used a piece of white conduit to bring it up the wall vertically
Perfect video, i watched it all, did i hear you say you used 6mm cable? would you be able to advise cable size for my garden shed/garden room, 45meter run im thinking 4mm or 6mm armoured? regards
Does anyone know if you can get an inline fan to go in the loft that has a humidistat? I assume the humidity sensor would need to be integrated into the internal grill in the bathroom rather than into the fan unit itself.
Hi pal sorry but I just think the cable clipped surface round the wall is an eye soar and I would not have allowed that at my house just pity you could not hide it under the ground then down from main and up to zappi this is not to say you are not good at your job it's just that cable install round the white wall
Hello Sir! You do such a nice job! However, I jest like to ask what you do with old consumer units once you've replaced them? I know Code my prohibit their reuse elsewhere, But am unsure! Can you sell or jest have to recycle them?
all the vids seem to show you the easy installations on new build, nothing showing homes built 60/ 100 yrs ago with the meter inside at the back of the house, and the consumer inside at the front in door bottom of the staircase which is about 15 mtrs away from the meter feed entry point
Great Video, and Love the Channel Name 💯 I had a Question about that consumer unit, I've got the Same one, but I've never know what the B32 switch-thing left of the Main Isolator is for? we've got one in our house, and its the only one that's not labelled?
The install was great. You guys need to relax, I’m sure if he could make it better he would. I personally found his work amazing and would defo hire him. He knows his stuff so stop hating on him.
nah, black cable is an eye sore on white background... Could have used white cable if he didnt want to run cable under the pebble dash/brick line...sorry but its Poor workmanship
Wow top quality work and a very lovely job you should be both proud as we are to see the work being done keep up with the videos buddy they are helping with my treatment love to all,,,,woodyx
I don't know why consumer units can't be designed so the main switch can be on either side. As far as I can see the main problem is that the two terminals on the main switch are labelled N & L and that the neutral and earth terminal bars would need swapping over (there may be some asymmetry in the neutral terminal bare for the large gauge neutral wire, but I'm sure there's a simple solution to that). As far as the main switch is concerned, then the N & L markings almost certainly don't signify any functional difference between the poles. Some stick-on lables would fix that.
@@chrismoyler I don't know specifically about the Fusebox CUs, but on the MK and Wylex ones, the main switches are entirely symmetrical save that they are labelled N & E. The terminals at the bottom are identical, and the busbar would fit either way around. The Earth and Neutral bars would need swapping over, but that's no big deal. I can only think that the main switches are marked N & L to avoid errors, but that's about it. An even vaguely competent electrician could work out which side was attached to the bus-bar. Also, on split RCD boards, the main switch doesn't even attach to the bus bar in the first place. It's only the RCDs that do that (not that I would recommend split load RCD boards). nb. the MK and Wylex boards have left and right hand mounted main switches respectively.
@@user-me5wv7zq3v well I think he’s using the wrong boxes. I guess the box is earthed via the faceplate screws but is a pattress box the right choice instead of garage box?
I believe the spark will be returning to remove the faceplates prior to dry lining at a later date so metal boxes are correct for dry lining @@AaaaandAction
Couldn’t you have replaced the switched fuse with a single socket and moved the switched fuse to the right? 1st year apprenticeship trying to soak up as much knowledge as I can! Enjoying the vids 😊
Thanks for your opinion, all the music used in these videos has been created by my brother and I'll continue to use it. Your the first to moan about it and I'm not concerned that much, ps it's not about the music. Try MTV instead next time if that's what your looking for!
@@thecableguyuk i dont do MTV or any music platform I came to this video because the content looks interesting but the music put me off. I dont understand why people who makes video are so sure that we want to lusten to music. I dont.
