Maybe it's the only way the story could proceed, but if "Mr. Bengstrom" (the hypochondriacal character) is extremely worried about all the hazardous things around him, why did he leave his front door unlocked? Even if he's in some kind of institutional setting, as the look of the bed and blankets suggest, you usually can lock up your own room...sort of like a dorm.
Wasn't the doctor the same actor who played Lavern's dad on Lavern and Shirley? Seems like a lot of the actors who appeared on Happy Days also appeared on this show.
Unfortunately the DVD cut out the hilarious end of the scene where Felix starts singing, "Together" and moves his chair toward Oscar who promptly moves away. One of many instances of an Odd Couple episode ruined by "music clearance" problems.
So-called "Tony Randall" wasn't even his real name. He was born Aryeh Leonard Rosenberg. Changing one's birthname, other than for marriage, shows disrespect of surname & family heritage. It's especially a shame, if it's done at the behest of deceitful & mercenary 'Hollywood' studios or entertainment moguls & managers. The ludicrous misrepresentation of self, for ANY reason, is simply unnecessary.
Ever notice how Oscar gets his room back to the way he likes it in just a few short hours? Truly the work of a master slobsman. Have to join the prevailing sentiment: this show has to be one of the best sitcoms ever.
Jack Klugman was a thespian with a penchant for acting. He also didn't sell-out his birth name, at the behest of greedy & deceitful 'Hollywood' Moguls or studios. This proved that it IS possible to "make it" in show business, without disrespecting one's family name & heritage.

So-Called "Tony Randall" was not even his real name. He was born Aryeh Leonard Rosenberg. He obviously sold-out his birth name to Hollywood greed, deceit, and anticipation of greater recognition & money. It also implies parental & heritage disrespect.
@@davidmitchell6873 It did. Piano keeps playing for half a second after the hands come off... 4:04, and you can hear it being played just after Felix has walked away from it... 4:17, as I said.
