I need it. I recently struck out with goose poupon, I ran out of my sample and it was really dry! I've been wanting to get sugar kelp since. and in my head... sugar kelp can kind of be mountain dew... only, backwashed with chewing tobacco. LMAO you're welcome for that lovely image :)
I just discovered your channel and I love your videos!! There's something so casual and relaxed about how you talk and present the pens, it's like I'm getting a personal review from an old friend. I've been inspired to actually get into fountain pens because of this! Granted it's a little challenging since I'm a lefty and have to fight against some nibs dragging on the paper if I use too much pressure, but I love how clean and pretty it makes the lines compared to a normal pen. It's also a bit more expensive of a hobby than I'd anticipated (why do the pretty pens have to cost so much lol), but I'm starting out with that Lamy Safari pen in their blue ink and I'm liking it so far! Have you ever considered doing a budget pens/inks review? No pressure or anything, but if you have opinions to share on the matter I'm sure us newbies would definitely appreciate the insight!

A really kind lady on the fountain pen enthusiast's group on facebook shared that Bertam's Inkwell had about 6 really colorful ones in stock and she shared pictures, and I called him the next day to order it! He's the nicest guy too!

"eating delicious food" - i'm eating a breakfast sandwich and drinking a dr. pepper as i watch. haha great pen and ink combos! I'ts been a long time since I used copper patina, but i remember it living up to its brand name. something about the shimmer in that color didn't go well with whatever i tried it in either. i also agree that psychedelic magenta is too dry... or at least too...something. i wish it were better. congrats on your birthday pens, and mama daisy has excellent taste in pens! i just ordered the bella di notte (before watching your video)... they only had 1.5 stub, so i decided to try it but also ordered a replacement "pink gold" broad nib... just in case i dont like the stub!

I have an entire bottle of the FWP Goose Poo, purchased on recommendations as a dupe for Ina-Ho. It just seems... variable in consistency? Like it gets microscopically chunky at times? It is NOT a pleasure to write with at any rate. Birmingham Pen Sugar Kelp is very close in color without these weird problems. Not sure what to do with the Poo.
Platinum Citrus Black is really close to Goose Poupon as well. I swatched them side by side and other than a slight black sheen in the swatch of citrus black, they looked almost identical on Midori paper.
Hi Daisy, I finally found you on YT! 🥳 I love your rainbow colors! How do I end up always with more dark inks than vibrant colors although I prefer them? Thanks for telling about the Narvahl, I think every customer should send it back so they are forced to do something (perhaps ask Twsbi how to.. 😅)

Thank you Daisy! I‘ve been eying the Narwhals and I‘m glad that you addressed the issue. I have a Key West, which is a cartridge/converter, and I really like it. It‘s so sparkly - it’s like being at the beach and looking at the sand glistening in the sun. I love your summer inks, just looking at that page makes me happy. I think I have to branch out - I always gravitate towards gloomy, dusty colors. Let me just say that I really enjoy your videos and your story telling!
Hi there. The Nahvalur nibs are marked on the left side close to the grip section. I only knew to look on the side as Monteverde marks their nibs on the right side of the nib.

The piston issue happened with me on my Nahvalur Tromso, but I ended up just getting one of my 8 million TWSBI wrenches to work with it… which seems like a big dose of shade, considering the previous drama those 2 had. 😂😂😂
hehehe, true! I actually didn't even think about using a twsbi wrench, i know i've got a couple around here somewhere. It didn't even dawn on me that it would fit. That's good to know!

Omg… you put so much thought into pen and ink pairings, I love it! I also have a lot of muted inks in me gazillion inked pens right now. I usually communicate with penpals if lighter inks are legible for them and adjust what I use in the letters as needed. For myself I truly don’t care, I even had a sample of DI snowfield and loved it for journalling. Right now I try to only put the very light ones into my mega-gusher the Lamy 2000 with the OBB nib as I use it in my last video. It’s the only pen that can deal with Vayu! 🤓🖋️😜 enjoy your weekend and happy writing - Dag (paperdag)
Thank you so much for your kind words!! I do like more muted inks too, But I think my preference definitely has a line where if I'm really struggling to read it, I'm not enjoying it anymore LOL.
I love your pens and your ink choices. I adore colours! The Nahvalur nibs are marked (at least all of mine are) on the bottom left, under the decorative scroll band, right by the grip. It's not the most obvious, a little faint also. Hope that helps.
