I found this video while I was sorting your videos by old to new because you mentioned your first ever video being a screamer in 2007 in a comment on a community post and I was curious if I could find it on this channel, as someone who started playing Animal Crossing with NH in December 2020 watching a snapshot of the NL era was so fascinating, I hope they do #7 if they make an AC game for the Switch's successor because that would be awesome After watching playthroughs of NL, I'm SO glad that they did #6 for NH because I would have gone insane if I hadn't been able to choose where my villagers lived, same with #4

Not sure to be impressed by how well Nintendo and game devs got games to play on a downclocked low end chip, or the fact my nvidia shield with the same internals at higher clock run android games terrible.
Any way you put it. Wii u was much more impressive at launch than the switch. Calling a Switch a "current gen" console is a joke. PS5 And XBOX Series X blows it away in regards to hardware and graphics. Nintendo survives through fan loyalty and mostly ports. As far as Nintendo graphics and hardware, no where near modern. I have them all. For me, Switch was the biggest disappointment in a console purchase ever. I already had most of the games they were offering on my Wii U. A lot of their new offerings are 2-D side scrolling games. Not Impressed. They look like Phone games. I Understand it's a "Nintendo" thing. I see it as lazy. Offering ports from a previous gen console for $60 is rediculous. I understand people will defend Nintendo to the ends of the earth. I think they have gotten complacent.
Dude are you for real about the xbox and ps4 CPU's? You don't have any idea what your talking about if that is the case. You should have done some research before simping for nintendo. The Xbox one and PS4 use an x86 based 64 bit CPU that is NOTHING like a "tablet CPU" or a "cheap" ARM x64 CPU. They are literally x86 64 bit CPU's like what Intel and AMD produce for the PC market. AMD doesn't make a ARM based CPU that is worth using. Ask Samsung, they know all about that. The Switch is using a old and VERY CHEAP Nvidia tegra X1 that was put in the Nvidia shield years ago and was resurrected for Nintendo's cheap ass console. Now that right there is a "Tablet" or cheap ARM CPU for sure. Maybe you might have misspoke but the CPU & GPU from the standard Xbox one is 30 to 40% faster than the switch and both of those consoles mop the floor with the Switch, in terms of raw computational and graphics power the switch cant even come close to either of them. People say nintendo is picky about 3rd parties but its not that at all, they only pick developers that can understand how to code and optimize for their low end hardware.
You are defending the Switch when you haven't even played or owned the Wii U??? I've owned and played both and I found literally No upgrade in the switch. All the games I've played play and look the same on both systems.......they just cut the sides of the wii u gamepad and turned the console into a dock.
The Switch literally has double the resolution or framerate of equivalent Wii U games. Even Mario Kart 8 gets a 2x resolution boost, and that was one of the Wii U's most visually striking games.
The WiiU was really great, they should have advertised it, they killed it themselves, good marketing and a different name could have saved it. Stupid stupid naming for the wiiu. Exactly people thought it was a wii or wii upgrade. But it was an actual decent system that could have had a few more years of life on it if nintendo didn't handle it so poorly...
Not really. The Switch ended up getting lots of games across its lifespan that something like the Wii U never would have gotten, and that's because the graphics architecture is the exact same as what's used on PCs. Even recently, the Switch got No Man's Sky, Doom Eternal, Crysis Remastered, Nier Automata and Bright Memory Infinite. The games don't run anywhere near as well as they do on even low-end PCs, but they exist. If Nintendo stuck with an old bespoke architecture like they did with the Wii U, but the power level was the same, these games simply would not have happened.
Sticker Star, Color Splash, and Origami King are just terrible. They're unplayable, not fun at all, and NSMBfied everything. I wouldn't say they're fun on their own. Even without comparing them to Paper Mario 64, TTYD, and even SPM, the modern Paper Mario games are still horrible. Proven by the interview of Tanabe and Origami King, it's clear they won't make an actual successor of 64 and TTYD. So the series is just dead to me. But they are Mario games, so lot of Nintendo and Mario fans will defend these modern Paper Mario games and give them 90 or 100% ratings as if they're great games. Why would Nintendo ever hear the criticisms of their Mario games. Mario is always too big to fail, even the Mario games that actually suck. Nintendo got away milking Mario Kart 8 DX as an excuse to not make an actual new Mario Kart, but people still defend Mario when it comes to that.
Great video. Agreed on all points. Interesting side note, WD1 with the E3 effects enabled (no mods I know, but technically the effects were present) has incredible shadows, rain, wind and bokha dof. Worth checking out!
I got four game overs in the golden Colosseum like I was supposed to know exactly what to do. A game that teaches you the boss battle comes you fight the boss, not run away from it. I wasted over an hour of my life doing this stupid level and a RU-vid search angry paper Mario and found this and I feel better
First death, endless wave of things in the Colosseum, wasn’t prepared for didn’t expect it to be endless damn near. Didn’t use my cards right. Second death, can’t touch Iggy while the carts are moving. And logic would tell you that you came over an RPG battle not run away from it Third death I successfully run away from the battle with only 15 HP left, but while I’m in the spectator section a random offscreen hammer hits me for 16 HP. From an NPC that was completely invisible. This game is so completely random and puts obvious clues in obscure places, like I was supposed to remember to go look for a star at the edge of the arena when the second after the paint kid said anything I engage the battle
