It's pure irony that Buster Keaton's last film would be a construction safety film. As he moves about each scene, almost ghostlike, he is mocking the entire film, considering he based his career on breaking boundaries. What a great way to end. Thank you for posting.
I just can't say a bad word. This is not a theatrical film, it's a low budget industrial short. It's not fair to judge it as a "Buster Keaton film." Buster is exhausted and ill, with about 4 months left to live. He pushed himself so hard. The only thing that could make him stop trying to make people laugh was death. Love you, dear Buster, always!
Considering he died of cancer about 4 months later, I don't think Buster had the energy to act and direct at this point. But there were 35 years before this where he should have been in the director's chair whenever he wanted it.
