Wicked Dicey puts on a great event and the Heresy TOs knocked it out of the park! If you have a chance to travel up it's worth the trip and we love seeing how the con is growing each year!
Sometimes games you bodied are where you learn the most! It was a good game and Iearned a lot and hoping next time I have a little more cohesive list and a better game play to start with!
Great video & looking forward to more in the future! Thanks for supporting our events! The Horus Heresy TOs knocked it oooout of the park. Conquest may also return for Everwinter, working through the details rn.
We've played a few years of NOVA and while they put on a great event the extras with the booklet, the videos, and the interactive map added a lot to the narrative event! Also a great set of players! Excited about Conquest making a return, but it will make what we pick a hard choice!
That stacking of pheromancies works super well when using multiple of the same units - run 2 pheros + 1 bio in MSUs of FGDs and an extra bigger block of FGDs with the Assassin, then stack the top of the deck with Phero-FGD-Bio-FGD-Phero-FGD-Assassin-FGD - first move is to buff the assassin's unit however it needs it (unbreak, +1 attacks, heal depending on what state it's in), then biomancer has loads of choice to give the assassin's unit deadly blades or unstable enhancement it or activate it from the bottom of the deck, with the backup of entourage on its own unit, then phero 2 can buff it again or activate it for double clash if needed, and finally assassin there to duel and then entourage. So flexible!
Para actually gave an explanation for some of the wording so the "oi" is pronounced "ee", meaning "Athanatoi" is "Athanatee" and "Buccephaloi" is "Buccephalee" and so on and so forth.
I had heard them pronounce some of the units with an "ee" on the end on streams before but wasn't sure if that was a general rule, because I think I've heard the "oi" as "oi" before as well. Good to know!
@@tableitgaming It's because they are taking a lot of the words from old Greek, so none of the names sound like how we would pronounce with modern English. Which is cool since it's something new to learn.
I think an MSU or 2 is all you need. I've seen people run up to 5 in a unit before, but that seems like a lot for a unit whose ultimate purpose is to gum up the board and die! and Thank You!! <3
As the person that has used 5 Stryxs it allows them to survive a volley and then have ok odds of surviving the melee swing of the ranged unit you are charging. It means that a second ranged unit or an actual melee unit needs to go after them, and it can gum up the deployment. If there isn't a lot of range where you are then more groups is probably better. They can hit hard though, especially with Burnout to give the one real Attach they were going to make a good punch.
The Mantle of the Devoted item can only give an attached Infantry unit Fanatic now. Because of that, attaching a character to a Tontorr or Apex Predator via riding it will not give the unit Fanatic so it can't chant tier 3.
WL Phero and LH are both so good that you see them in high comp play all the time. The recursion from Under Hive plus the reroll morale bubble can make brutes very tanky and the LH gets 3 upgrades for FREE, so you're not spending points.
Yeaa. when I (Isaac) said that, I was giving my blazing hot take in the context of the supremacy ability, forgetting that Spires basically have *two* supremacies (1 from the army rule based on Warlord and 1 from the actual supremacy of the Warlord). Comparing Supremacy to Supremacy, re-rolling Resolve tests is, imho, just an entirely lower category of ability than Coordinated Assault. Contextualized with the "secondary Supremacy" of the Regen (4), yea, Pheromancer warlord seems solid. I blame being used to looking at armies with real army rules, haha.
You want to put the executor in force grown drones very deep stand wise. Put a minimum sized unit with biomamcer behind it. Loose formation aura of death 4 or 6 constantly getting healed is an excellent objective holder and kill units a lot more expensive
My back of the envelope math suggests that the re-roll resolve isn't doing a whole lot for the survivability of the unit (100 no cleave hits results in 50 damage from the attacks and 5 from the resolve... before re-rolls from the supremacy). That on it's own doesn't feel world the Warlord pick when I could be drawing extra cards, or doing biomancer across the boards. Factoring in regeneration though, that does seems good!
I took a jarl instead of a Shaman as my general. It helped me score on 2 out of 4 missions. I went 2-2. I beat up Dweghom and OD well. Wadruhn and 100 kingdoms bad touched me
That change to controlling objectives really annoys me, the way I though it worked before was really easy to explain: you have to have more scoring stands than your opponent has total stands. Bam. Nice and simple, makes it harder to control zones with multiple units present.
That would be an interesting way to do it, and there's precedent with other units having limits (usually a limit on how many of a mainstay unit can be brought in a given warband but I don't see why we couldn't expand that to an army limit). Then again we may just see people doing 2 units of 5 Ashen Dawn, ha!
This nerf barely touches Ashen Dawn, same guy who top 3’d Adepticon with them just swept a tournament over the weekend with them post nerf. Just dropped the banners and swapped mage to priest to get D5 on the AD
Really! Ha, I guess the 50-or-so points lost isn't as big of a hit as I thought it was. Then again, in my head, I forgot that they even took standards, so those would be a very easy drop... Owie!
Yes you got it right 😆 More scoring than enemy scoring, more total than enemy total Your example (3 med vs 3 light is a tie, 3 med + 1 light > 3 light) is spot on I do agree making this a special rule would help. But just actually writing the rule in the book at all would help. The devs confirmed twice on the discord (since the April update) that the intent is "more scoring and more total", but the packet just doesn't bother to say that. I don't know why. I assume everyone at PB is running on 3 hours sleep and caffeine while trying to maintain and develop 2 games, 8 armies, model production, lore, aghm, worlds, an app, and a TTRPG.
23:10 Run a xilarch with 2 units of varangian guard. That saves you 100 points. As opposed to to running a unit of legionaires to get 1 unit of varangian
Is Brannen living in the glory day of the old Troll stat line? Yes. Does he worry that Trolls just don't feel they have a place in current Nord list? Also yes! Regen 6 is big but still seems there are better options in Nord for similar job.
I think you're putting too much stalk in the jarl. Raiders can already hold objectives with captain. Stalkers holding an objective on turn 1 isn't worth when I can get my mediums that can actually take a hit and hold objectives on there turn 2 with the shaman
Shaman giving vanguard is great to get mediums exactly like you're saying, we just think people are sleeping on Jarl as they have abilities that keep impacting the game even after all reinforcements arrive the table where Shaman and Blooded supremacy stops impacting after everyone arrives.
I would add that the Ice Jotnar's spells also do slightly more hits on average without interference [2 to 3 successes per cast with 2 Hits per Success), and can cause resolve which can be effected by Terrifying.
Good call out on the Ice Jotnar's extra damage w/ resolve checks. The extra damage does help justify the higher cost. We just like fiendhunter a lot w/ the amount of big monsters being run in current meta.
Agree that these flanking actions don't happen as much in Conquest as other ranky flanks but Fenr give Nords probably the best opportunity for this to happen with free reform and high movement.
Interesting! In our experience force multipliers are more valuable than personal buffs especially with how expensive the Dark Blessings are - but then again these are our Hot Takes, not our "well-researched and backed with actual experience" takes :)
@@tableitgamingyeah but that's how FD Lists Play Keeping her alive is the swinging element, so for Lists with her Personal Buffs are really strong. As you noted, she has a Lot of keywords ^^ this one she missing
Sorry about that! After recording we realized Isaac's mic never turned on so it was Brannen's collecting all the sound. We listened with several sets of headphones and speakers and determined that while it wasn't high quality it also didn't destroy the footage, so instead of re-recording from scratch we decided to roll with it. Sorry to hear that with your setup the audio experience was worse than we anticipated! Future videos will (hopefully) not have such issues at all! Thanks for your comment!
