Game Point is a gathering spot for tabletop gamers. I mostly make how-to-play content, where my goal is to present board and card game rules in the most straightforward way possible, with enough detail to fully prepare you for your first time playing a game.
😊 depending on how old your kids are, if they have a hard time learning the game, I'd recommend sorting out the deck to just teach them half the card types at first, then add in new types every time you play until they know them all.
Thanks for answering this so fast! That's exactly right. It's impossible to save up enough gems to buy the expensive cards at the beginning of the game. But once you've bought some cheaper cards, those give you basically a discount for the rest of the game, that helps you buy the big stuff.
@@Sweet.Maria. Yes the bigger version is super fun! I've played it a couple times and really enjoyed it. I've been meaning to get a copy and make a video. It's basically the same game, just with a wider variety of card types so every round is more unique.
@@GamePointTabletop That’s awesome! You should totally get a copy and do a review! I love board games! We have a place called Sweets and Geeks in my town where you can just play random games to see if you like them. Anyway, I will be looking forward to your next review! ☺️
That's the plan! I took some time away from the channel after moving and changing jobs and had a bunch of other stuff going on, but restarted last year and plan to keep releasing about one video a month for the foreseeable future.
Me and a few partners, play with all 3(core, and both expansions together) was fun and longer. We changed some of the rules, cause we had to. But we were addicted to the game. I'm even thinking about purchasing the Marvel Version for my nieces and nephews. I have no kids.
@@GamePointTabletop it's pretty good! Easy to learn, easy to play, the locations vs plazas seems to confuse new players but they get the hang of it, not great at 4 players though as it can be very AP particularly if you are player 1 at the start of a round.
Nicely done video! :) The audio & video were clear and easy to follow. I'll use what I learned here to teach the game at one of our upcoming game nights. Question - What would you say is the optimal number of players?
Ooh good question. Not one I feel super confident answering unfortunately. I've only played it with 4 players or solo. Between those two choices, I'd prefer 4-player. I generally am not very excited about solo games though, so that's not a dig at this game's solo mechanics. I suspect a 2- or 3-player game would make it easier to strategically watch what your opponents are collecting, so you could strategize around that more if you want to.
Thanks! I love wingspan and eventually I may do a tutorial for it, but there are already some good ones out there. If you like Wingspan, you'll probably like my next video, though. It's for Evolution: Climate, which has a very similar scientific vibe and similar card-combo-optimizing mechanics.
Huge thanks for the detailed, yet efficient guide. I've got my first Splendor tournament in a week, and I'm looking forward to practicing Splendor now that I know what's going on.
Yes they can. They'd need to have the right card (or a wild), but people often save wilds for the end specifically to do that. Hopefully if you've gotten a big asset, you can get it covered before the end so that it's safe even if your hand can't protect it.
