They forgot to include the GREGORIAN CALENDAR 📆 - - which is the calendar we all use today (it corrected + superseded the Julian calendar). Also, and MOST IMPORTANTLY - - they forgot to include the advent of GREGORIAN MASSES 🙏🏻 (30 days of consecutive Masses offered for an individual soul, which helps usher the soul from Purgatory into Heaven)👼🏼👱🏼‍♀️👨🏼👼🏻🤍🕊️ But GREAT video otherwise! 😁😃👍🏼👍🏼🔅🔆🕊️

Thank you so much for your insightful comment! You mentioned two important elements: the Gregorian Calendar and Gregorian Masses. I'd love to clarify them a bit more for everyone. First, the Gregorian Calendar 📅 is indeed the calendar we all use today. However, it wasn't introduced by Pope Gregory the Great, but rather by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582. This calendar corrected the Julian calendar, which had caused the dates of important events like Easter to drift over time. By realigning the calendar with the solar year, the Gregorian Calendar ensured greater accuracy in timekeeping and is now the global standard. As for the Gregorian Masses 🙏🏻, you're absolutely right! These are directly linked to Pope Gregory the Great. He initiated the tradition of offering 30 consecutive Masses for a deceased soul, based on a story where a monk's soul was released from purgatory after Gregory offered these Masses. This beautiful devotion remains a key practice in Catholic spirituality, helping souls transition from purgatory to heaven. Thank you again for helping highlight these significant parts of Catholic tradition

@@LivingTheWordToday Wow - wasn’t expecting a response - - so thank you! (I looked to see if there were any other Church Doctors named Gregory, and he was the only one - - so I figured he was the Pope who oversaw the corrections to the calendar - - so thank you for the correct info. (I kinda thought the period which he lived seemed a little early for the calendar correction - so thanks again). And also… the more Catholics (or even non-Christians) learn about the spiritual reality of the Church Suffering in Purgatory, the more they will appreciate GOD’S MERCY granted to our Church Militant here on Earth to help usher those souls into the Church Triumphant. 👼🏼🙏🏻👼🙏🏻👼🏾🙏🏻👼🏿🙏🏻👼🏽🙏🏻👼🏼🔅🔆🕊️

No, she did not. We apologize for the mistake in depicting Saint Teresa of Jesus Jornet Ibars wearing a white habit similar to that of Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Saint Teresa would have worn a traditional dark habit appropriate to her congregation, the Little Sisters of the Abandoned Elderly.

The ability of the Catholic Church to officially declare someone a saint is not based on a single specific biblical passage but rather on a combination of biblical teachings, apostolic tradition, and ecclesiastical authority. The idea that the Church has the power to "bind and loose" (i.e., make decisions on spiritual matters) is fundamental to this practice. This authority is seen as granted by Jesus to his apostles, particularly to Peter, the first Pope. Here are some key biblical passages that the Church uses to support this authority: Matthew 16:18-19: "And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." In this passage, Jesus gives Peter, and by extension the Church, the power to make decisions that have validity in heaven and on earth. This "power of the keys" is interpreted as the authority to define doctrinal and disciplinary matters, including canonization. Matthew 18:18: "Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." This passage extends the concept of authority given to the apostles, allowing the Church, through its leaders, to make binding decisions for the faithful. John 20:21-23: "Again Jesus said, 'Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.' And with that he breathed on them and said, 'Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone's sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.'" This passage underscores the spiritual authority of the apostles, which the Church believes is passed down to their successors, the bishops, and ultimately to the Pope. Hebrews 13:7: "Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith." Here, the faithful are encouraged to remember and imitate the faith of spiritual leaders, which supports the practice of honoring those who lived exemplary lives of holiness. Through these passages and the continuous tradition of the Church, the authority to proclaim someone a saint is seen as part of the Church's mission to guide the faithful, preserve doctrine, and promote examples of Christian living. Canonization is thus an expression of this authority, officially recognizing that a person lived in exemplary communion with God and can be venerated as a saint.

who named her a saint?
@LivingTheWordToday
@LivingTheWordToday Месяц назад
Saint Helena was not formally canonized by any specific Pope or Church authority since her veneration as a saint began long before the formal canonization process was established. Her sainthood was recognized through the widespread veneration and respect she received from early Christians, particularly due to her significant role in Christian history and her discovery of the True Cross. This grassroots recognition eventually led to her being honored as a saint in both the Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic traditions.
