Hi! I understand where you're coming from, but don't worry. It says 'dust free' on the package itself 🤗 Also, When I add the sand, I see that no dust is released. So a double check, it's okay 🤗
Hi!🤗 The air holes in the acrylic glass are the only ones. The diameter of these: 5mm for the top three rows and the bottem row has 3mm holes . I will probably make additional holes on the sides of the terrarium (the wood part) as well, since someone has indicated that the hamsters might need more airflow🤗
this video is destined to be a classic ...nino is adorable and so accomplished in the demonstrations of all his varied washing and grooming techniques .
Nice! You really might want to add additional vents on the sides, though. Like, through the wooden base/top of the Detolf. Those air holes in the sliding doors aren't all that big and only on one side of the cages. You can get away with small vents if they are on opposite sides of the cage, so a bit of an airflow can form. If you only vent from one side, though, you need pretty big vents; eg. Like in an aquarium, where the whole top is open. Look at commercial terrariums, there's a vent strip under the sliding doors _and_ another vent strip on top of the terrarium for this reason. Yes, hamsters don't need as much ventilation as mice (because hamsters pee very little and mark their territory with their scent glands instead of with pee like mice do) but you really want to upgrade the ventilation here. Get some wire mesh or sheet metal with ventilation holes, cut openings into each of the right and left wooden sides of the cage and cover with the mesh so the hamster can't escape. It's easy to do since you just have to cut through the wood and don't need to involve a glass cutting service. Sorry for the wall of text! And definitely no hate, I really like what you did with the Detolfs there! 🐹❤ waves from Austria ❤🐹
Hi! Thanks for your kind comment. I'll see if I can drill some extra holes through the wood😊 Or I'll cut openings on the sides and use the mesh..., I'm thinking about it. I'm not super handy, but I'll try my best!😇
