Lmao I been riding in the more mellow map this hole time I have to switch it and see the difference lmao 🤣 I thought it was in the hot map was the white one
I like the KTM 250SXF Factory addition , But I ride and race a 22 YZ450F now and I end up adding the Justin Barcia mapping because I felt it to be too mild in the factory map. No I'm not getting rid of my 450 but rather buy a smaller bike for GPs..
I have wider feet, and have the SG12's in a size 10 (and also wear the Altra running shoes). My size in the SG12's, I have gotten the outer toe rubbing issue, as you described in one of your earlier replies... I'm curious with the SG22's if I should stick with the same size 10's, they will provide enough of that relief in the toe box compared to the SG12's? Or would it be recommended to go a half size up? Unfortunately, there is no place near me that stocks these things to try on, so i'm having to do the gamble of the online order.
Great question! Same exact issue I had. I wore a size 11 in old sg12 and altra shoes. I stayed 11 in the sg22 and zero rubbing issues and I have just over 74 hours in these 22s. I’d stick to the same size 👍
So what are your tbi issues you experiences? I have a 2023 300xc i ride on my track and for the last 25 hours it has had a random bog i cant get rid of, or the dealer, it started around 20 hours. I won’t get into all the stuff ive done to try to get rid of it but if you google tbi and random bog I will probably be at the top. It finally got me on a small double and i broke 2 ribs and got my spleen 4 weeks ago, i am at this point positive the tbi is not safe for track use. After 25 years of ktm and Ktm response to this i am done with them for a wile, but really wanted to try a 350. Man, all i can think of now is committing to a jump and that feeling of twisting the throttle and nothing. Very gun shy of ktm all around… Holy crap, on edit i just found your other video. Riff…it busted me up bad. 1.5 hour ambulance ride. My bike runs extremely well until the bog hits..here is the stuff I’ve done just as an fyi. -Replaced inline fuel filter multiple times -Replaced fuel pump pick up filter($60) -Tested old fuel pump(48psi) and replaced with new fuel pump, with part number ending in 200(supposedly updated)($275) -stripped down and checked wire harness, also with bike running trying to move wires to find short. -ended up cutting open wire harness and checking for shorts on main trunk and throttle body branch. Looked beautiful in there. Everything under new electrical tape has been looked at. -pulled all connections looking for issues -changed spark plug 3 times, plugs always looked good, never fouled one, currently tried a 7 range plug.($25) -had dealer update software and look for codes, there were none($130) -did top end(used vortex oem piston)and pulled and cleaned power valve at 37 hr per ktm customer service advice($350). Old rings still measured the same ring gap as new ones. Used .62mm base gasket. -Set power valve to 48mm(z dimension) -Adjusted tps to .400 volts, reset tps with wake up connector and 3 throttle twists -recalibrated power valve on both maps multiple time -changed crank case sensor twice, even used sealant on last one to be sure wasn’t leaking($120) -current compression is 208 psi, was 196 before top end at 37hr -current deck height is between 0.00 and .008, squish is like 2.15 -checked stator… .9 ohms, 1.2 ohms hot. -pulled injectors inspected and cleaned externally -tried different fuels, one was an ethanol free 93 octane
@@moto-x i did and i updated my original post. I am 2 weeks before I’m back on my bike..but this 300 is gone. I’m going yz250. I really want to stay with ktm and try a 4t but after going round and round with them i just cant. They care zero. When i called the first time about my issue they just went down the maintenance schedule and stopped at the 15 hour mark because I hadn’t done the top end. Yea, top end every 15 hours.
Also, i think woods riders dont really experience the random bog, or riff…just those that do 20-30min moto and are constantly on throttle on and off and staying on the pipe.
@@saramittoyohann8205 at 130lb unless you’re an A rider I’d say way too heavy and powerful of a bike. 125/250 two stroke or 250f. Even a big wheel or supermini depending on how tall you are. Skill level plays a big role. 125 is a great bike to learn technique on.
@@moto-x Riding AStars Tech 7’s. They aren’t bad boots at all but I have 2 complaints. 1- not a lot of feedback through the boot and 2- the toe box is tall requiring me to shift my riding position more than I would like in certain circumstances.
I love my 2024 ktm 350xcf. Im 6'1" 255 lbs. I used to race 250 strokes back in the day. This thing lacks power nowhere! It has more power than any 2 stroke 250 ive ever ridden. Its only 5 hp less than the 450 xcf at 51 hp. Thing is a beast
I’m glad you like it! They are great bikes. I feel a 250 2-stroke (yz or ktm) is a lot more bike and you have to remember the 350 makes peak power way up top, above 12,000. So while it makes 6hp less then the ktm 450 it doesn’t reach those numbers until the way later. The nice thing about all of these bikes is you can find one to suit you no matter what you prefer 👍
Hello i live in ivory coast and My friend got the sx 250 2023 all new last year. The first day the bike started to bug ! He has tried everything until now, the bike is still bugging! Very dangerous ! Sometimes the bike works et sundenly start to bug! He is selling it and doesnt want to buy a 2 Stroke injection anymore! I also wanted to buy the 300 sx but because of that I am buying a 250 Yz !
Great video and info. Been riding a 250xc at the local track and in the woods. I do love that bike. But thinking of getting a dedicated MX bike. 5’11” 200lbs, 56yo. Is that a public track? And where is it? Looks fun and mellow.
Its a great bike will do GNCC MOTO the reasons why you like the 450 more is because your a lazy rider just wants to sit on it & not change gear The 350 has as much horse power as the HONDA, SUZUKI 450 it's easier to ride harder for longer You should of spent your money on a riding Techniques Lesson and GAS, RATHER THAN SAY THE BIKE IS NOT VERY GOOD
@@matthewtoes6433 lol. That is your opinion, I have mine. I wouldn’t say I’m a lazy rider, I race two strokes all the time and the 350 requires you to shift almost as much as a two stroke. It also lacks torque of a 450. 350 is a great bike for the right rider, but many will benefit from the simple torque of a 450. Riding technique applies to all bikes, if you have poor technique on a 450 you’ll have it on a 350 lol.
@Moto-X amazing video & a great message One question imagine the 450 made a free roll mood that stops engine braking or minimises it . Then Two stroke will lose the one thing that makes 2 strokes fun.🫨 Funny fact is if the smokers rage in the comments imagine a 450 with only a rear brake no engine braking 🫣
Something else i think could be effecting us guys that run xc’s on mx track is the tank. When fuel level gets close to the top of the wings there is high probability we are sucking air at times. Trail riders will not really suffer from this. Just a terrible tank design.
Yes, mine is…here is my experience so far.. Bike is a 2023 300xc, VBKXCP233PM322***, bought last November(2023), didnt start riding until march of 2024. All stock. At 25hr the bike started to bog randomly(approximately may 3). Bog just happens, usually very subtle, usually after at least 1/2 hour of riding. I ride on a small Mx track with several jumps, 70’ being the biggest. I ride moderately on track but aggressively on straight aways. Bike never dies, just wont accept throttle, usually only for a few seconds but has happened a couple of times where I could stop and try to rev it but it won’t accept throttle, just hear throttle body open. Then it’s fine for a bit. It doesn’t act like it’s fouling out and has never fouled a plug. Does not seem like a short, seems like a fuel delivery issue. I do not ride in mud or pressure wash, and when I do wash it it’s with a shower setting on hose with a rag and bucket of soap. Issue started at 25 hr, now has 44hr, in that time i have done these things, the list is not exactly in the order i did them… -Replaced inline fuel filter multiple times -Replaced fuel pump pick up filter($60) -Tested old fuel pump(48psi) and replaced with new fuel pump, with part number ending in 200(supposedly updated)($275) -stripped down and checked wire harness, also with bike running trying to move wires to find short. -ended up cutting open wire harness and checking for shorts on main trunk. Which would make sense since it been doing this for 20 hours and at 15hr there were no codes. I’ve spent over $1000 in parts and dealer service and many hours trying to find this issue. Curremtly I’m down with 2 broken ribs and a lacerated spleen because the bike bogged on a small jump 4 days ago(6/23/24) after another failed attempt to correct it. Ktm and the ktm dealer said this will have to be replicated when it’s hooked up or they cant find the issue. That is not something that a dealer is set up to do. I cant sell this bike because it’s dangerous and has no solution in sight. Dealer is hesitant on me proceeding with them repairing because digging into will be expensive, and a good chance problem will not be cured. I have attempted many repairs and Guinea pigged this bike until it ultimately injured me. I had another dealer tell me that after all the diagnostics I’ve done there really isn’t much they can do. I do understand my current dealers hesitation as a failed repair puts me in danger. I need help with this situation.
This kid is a freaking showman dude. Most exciting rider to watch right now. Yes, Jett is incredible to watch, but if he’s out front it gets boring fast. Deegan could be coming through the pack or out front, and I’m having a blast watching him. Even the podium speeches, those moments make it so fun. You have to understand, he’s gotten unwarranted hate for years from his RU-vid channel. The people that weren’t his fans always talked mad crap. If I were him, I would have a chip on my shoulder as well, and I would be itching to shove it in their faces 🤙🏻🤙🏻✊🏻
Lol 52...Tony has decades of experience on us. I was scared to even be next to an older cat on a veteran track. They just ride different. Lil sloppy, fast as hell, mad at their wives, pulling huge airs that almost land them into the portapotty and always ripping 500's .They will hunt your ass down like you're just an impala in the serengeti . But i think Tony has more control than those other 52 year olds LET'S GOOOOOO TONYYY!!!!!! 🤘😂🤘
From experience one broken hip in the wrong place and it's a rap, not how fast and smooth you can go, it's how fast and hard you can hit the ground and not shatter. Hope he gets every pad ever made from a sponsor.
Not slow but not fast enough for pro racing. He also is heavy. If he got in shape he can do it next year. Age is never a factor as we have people more stronger, endurance and mentally sharper at 70 than most 20 year olds. The problem with older people is they learn the risk and consequences so this is why they slow down. They ride cautious and to race at a pro level you have to take risk. There are numerous people into their 70’s running and completing marathons so I don’t think the age is a factor at all. This guy has already done his racing and winning so it’s also not something he lives for now to fight and win. Anyway the video didn’t say if he qualified so I assume he didn’t
