I didn't see your comment about needing a signed permission. You shouldn't need that, I'm sure not going to sue and don't even want credit for my low quality camera work. I'll also be happy to answer any questions here. I've posted everything I shot that day and it was almost 30 years ago so I don't know what I can tell you about it. I wasn't a fan per se, I knew of her from a Peter Gabriel live album and had the camera there to shoot B roll of the local band who was playing at a small stage as people entered. I saw the last few minutes of her sound check and decided to shoot what I could of her unusually and unfortunately brief opening set. I'm glad to help, but don't want to put my address online, even on a video no one watches. Good luck, and if you find video of the vocal piece I mentioned in another post I would love to see it. Sorry for the slow response, I am behind on comments.
@@pyaklich Hi! Thanks so much for writing back - and again, apologies for spamming you so much about this ;) Yes, totally understand your hesitancy. We are an official production company, and we have broadcasters who require a signed agreement for every piece of third-party material (even if it's an old youtube video that's 480p!). I wouldn't ask you to sign anything here. It would be great if you could send me an email at the address listed on my profile, and then from there I can email you the release. Unfortunately, we wouldn't be able to keep the footage in our cut unless we get something more official than permission via a youtube comment. The reason why we really like this clip is because Paula says "I'm always so grateful when I see women supporting other women!" It's special because this is from 1995, and precedes Lilith Fair.... again, I'd be happy to tell you more about the project!! It's exciting stuff, and would be great to include this short clip. Hopefully that makes sense, about why we just need something more than a signed napkin - so to speak! Cheers, appreciate your time. Hope to hear from you on email.
Especially weird when Mike sings the "when we were so young" line. Everything comes around though, check this out ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KijRJMhaOVM.html&ab_channel=pyaklich
Did The Earthworms ever do a studio recording of World Swirl, and if so, is it available anywhere? I have The Recipe’s cover of it, but I would like The Earthworms version if it is out there.
Sort of. They did a cassette that I don't have when they were just a 3 piece with Paul and Nikki Ferraro and another guitarist before they got a rhythm section. It was probably on there. The Ferraro's and their bass player moved to Atlanta in the mid 90's and formed a band called Manic Diner with a drummer from Atlanta, where they recorded another cassette that includes World Swirl. I have that one and will post it, along with a live Earthworms show from CMU whenever I get my hands on a cassette player. I didn't know about the other versions of the song. Thank you. There is also another live version that didn't include the band name or song title. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7Pr_4fEc88k.html&ab_channel=TheGreatBlueHeronMusicFestival
No it's from the Beehive in Oakland which used to be the King's Court theater, so it has a big stage. The Artery was small and always packed for Root shows and the band barely fit on the stage. You couldn't really shoot them there. Here's video of a less popular band at the Artery. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xhpgq1GN5Wo.html&ab_channel=pyaklich
