Thank you for this information. This is a topic I never considered as being a racial health disparity, but this education has really opened my eyes. This was a wonderful presentation and I will make changes to my own practice based on this and encourage others to do the same.
Not me. Every job I've ever had would end in termination. Eventually, at some point, people would notice that there was something off about me. Then they would call me into the office or wherever to discuss that they are concerned that I might be on drugs and then I would have to come clean about narcolepsy and since there aren't any reasonable accommodations to be made, I would end up fired sooner or later. Every time. All the time.
I'll be honest with u sleepiness is just mild narcolepsy and should be treated similarly or both should be treated but not with cofee as coffee causes mote.of it.
Of all the discussions and presentations I've seen, it doesn't fix this horrible disease. It's absolutely debilitating. It keeps me from living a normal life.
18hrs a day since 1971 ...in Yorkshire it dosnt exist.im so alone..im just getting more crippled more sleepy no Colon function now ..I haven't been able to walk for 14 yrs ..I'm so sick of living like this in this mess in this loneliness..I will be gone by the time my family or friends give a shit.. neuropathy burning...I'm so so used to been the one left behind..I ger no treatment apart fron dr. Reading James cook university hospital Middlesbrough..I don't know what I would have done without him 😢
how can anyone know if a persons religious beliefs are valid or not!? something creeps me out about that. paul offit makes these claims then tries to quote the bible and it’s really strange. vaccines are not holy or absolutely necessary. if people say no. accept it.

I'm 52. When I came down with the symptoms of narcolepsy when I was 17, I was able to figure out that I had narcolepsy before I was 19. I went to the library and looked up sleep disorders and it described my symptoms to a tee, including cataplexy, hypnagogic hallucinations, etc. I was determined to be a success story. I'm not. I've been on disability for 10 years now. I've struggled my entire adult life. I always read about people who have been successful and have great jobs with narcolepsy. I don't know how they do it. I always ended up fired. Employers or co-workers would notice, eventually, that throughout the day I lapsed through various levels of consciousness. Truth is, if you can't work 12-hour days consistently for a good couple of years you're never going to have a career or any type of job that pays more than a handful of dimes. I'm just waiting out the clock anymore.

you “antivaxxers” aren’t winning anything. all those proposed laws failed. the fact is that shoddily made medical products shouldn’t be mandated. that has nothing to do with being a “antivaxxer”. the pharmaceutical industry is winning. they cannot lose because they control these people through policy and legislative agendas because they’re paying politicians. big wins
these people want school nurses to be pharmaceutical industry sales representatives. why is it the job of everyone else to sell medical products on behalf of big pharma. the pharmaceutical industry has these people believing that you must take their products “or else”. and now they want to inject your children without you present!? yeah. that’s a dangerous situation that these people want children to make decisions and they can inject your children without you being present. these people should be in prison.
Insurance denied, I've been sleeping my life away since 2012. Been on Provigil since 2001, but when it went generic it's not as effective. I can sleep through a full dose. Neurologist Dr prescribed Xywav,low sodium oxybate, but insurance says no. $20,000 per month for a few minerals does seem excessive. Surely some clever pharmacy could compound it for less
