Hello everyone, My Name is Cory Jackson and I have been blind since birth. I was born and raised in Ohio. I live with my wife, daughter, 4 dogs a cat and a Red Eared slider. As you can tell by reading all of that, it is quite the zoo around here at times. I am excited to be sharing my life with you. Sometimes we will just chat, sometimes I will show you technology that I use to make life easier for me and sometimes we will hang out in the kitchen where we will make something that I hope you will love. Of course, your questions are always welcome. I will do my best to answer them for you. If you like the content on my channel, please like and share. Hello Jason. I am Rahul and I am a student. I was wondering whether this text entry method is easy and how many blind people use it according to you? Is this better than screen readers?
Thanks so much for your videos! So clear. Both my parents are blind and use their iPhones for so many things. They’re much older than you and I live continents away from them, so having these videos to help me understand the tech and also to coach them, is really helpful. Keep up the good work.
My parents used to say my phone was demon possessed whenever I used my phone with VoiceOver in front of them. It’s funny how used we are to hearing tts speak a mile a minute while others hear gibberish.
Not sure how you will read me but this sounds like a faat i put method even for those that can see, perhaps if the back of our phones had touch too this input method could be used and keep the screen area free of keyboards? By the way, did you used to be able to see before?
So, I am developing websites and I was told to use "Applied Accessibility" for screen readers. I never knew how fast you guys could read until I was given a few clips similar to the speed you are reading. The human body adaptation is just amazing! Now I understand.
Hi Cory, i’m just starting to learn braille, and how to type it on my phone. After your video, I finally figured out how to calibrate my dots. But I cannot figure out how to lock it into the screen away mode, so it stops from switching to tabletop mode. Can you tell me where the setting is to do this? Thank you.
Thanks for your explanation, I've seen this feature and wondered what it is for, because i thought it is almost impossible for a blind person to use mobile.
Yum! Thanks for making these videos. A relative of mine has lost use of his eyes due to a mysterious neurological issue, and it has really impacted his quality of life. Seeing how well you navigate the world is very inspiring. I’ll be telling him about your channel.
