He knew that he could cross before he came to close to the other boat, that is why he didn't go under the other boat. He is holding the tiller weird in the beginning, but after losing his hat he starts holding it correctly. This vid is not long enough to show all his knowledge or how good of a sailor he is so stop thinking that you are some olympic champ compared to him just because you would take another route to the mark. Also he gas great controll of the boat not only during tacks and gybes but he also has the abillity of being quick in an optimist which is a pretty slow boat.
Yes, the content is amazing, but why are you all saying 'wonderful video', 'well produced' etc. when the audio recording is terrible and the audio mixing no better?
Money doesn't necessarily make you happier. It just gives you more options. eg: an indestructible $5,000 all carbon 6-coffee cup holder instead of a flimsy plastic one. Love it.

Great piece, allowing us to see & better understand the powerful innovations on spectacular Comanche. However I found the sound effects for the video intro & scene transition very unpleasant...blaring, unnecessary & too loud for comfort; the interview sound quality however was excellent, very professional.
