Oh man now this's cool; thanks youtube for actually recommending something good for once. Very cool build, and it's also interesting seeing the differences and improvements between that older design and this new one. Now if you'll excuse me, imma nerd out quite a bit here. 14:45 Industrial? Yeah, I guess I can kinda see that; I've always thought Mecha Megas was chrome-plated (though after quickly going back to the episode I'm realizing it might just be shiny and not necessarily chrome), and I'm not entirely sure what kind of aesthetic that would be, so I could agree with it being more industrial. I'm also familiar with how the selection of "chrome" lego pieces is a lot more limited so, honestly, fair choice just going with gray instead. Also in general with Mecha Megas, good job with all the minor detail differences it has compared to normal Megas, like the different feet, hands, and backpack; technically there is one thing you missed though, that being with its fins, because unlike Megas and its taillight-like spikes on its fins, Mecha Megas' fins don't have spikes, instead of spikes they're a lot shorter and stubbier, so I think it would've been better just using normal studs (maybe doubled up to make them stand out just a bit more) instead of the little cone pieces, but that is a VERY minor detail that I've only just noticed myself now as I'm going through that episode again, so it's really not a huge deal at all that they're spikes imo. 18:12 Oh my gods you included the WMG; I love that and I love you for including it. In my opinion that's gotta be the best one-off, cameo weapon that Megas has. 18:44 Megas has had so many missiles come out of everywhere all throughout the show, most of them mounted in the chest, but I just checked, and you are correct, those specific missiles did show up in 'TV Dinner', though they were also accompanied by leg missiles (very similar to the ones you also added), ankle missiles, arm missiles, and even some hand/finger missiles. Makes sense considering Coop pressed the "Missiles", "More Missiles", and "All The Missiles" buttons. 21:30 I believe you're right, I don't think it was named (at least not in the episode); I have always just called that the Pixelizer, though. And, fun fact: In addition to being in the first episode, the Pixelizer was also actually the very first of Megas' weapons that was ever used in the show, as it was accidentally used against Coop's mom's house when he and Jamie first got in Megas. 22:22 While you're right, Megas technically did not have a traditional flamethrower, it does have at least 3 flame-based weapons that I can think of, with the first, and also the closest thing to a flamethrower that Megas has, having showed up in S2 E5, 'Thanksgiving Showdown' (it's how Coop ultimately defeated Gynok, he overheated it until it blew up), though tbf that is more of a heat ray than a traditional flamethrower, but like I said, it's the closest Megas has to a flamethrower. It's also unnamed as far as I can find, with its controls being tied to the controls for the car's internal heater, so I'd just call it "The Heater". The second flame-based weapon I can think of is also tied to the controls for the car's heater, and it shows up in S2 E11, 'Universal Remote'; it's more like a massive flame cannon, and it's one of MANY weapons that Coop ends up using against Schoolgirl- eh, I mean, *Skalgar* the Destroyer, in that episode. And then lastly, Megas has the "Flames of Fury" which only shows up in S1 E12, 'Coop D'etat', and involves Megas' fists being engulfed in flames, enhancing its punches and causing anything in Megas' hands to melt (including the Metal Maiden chainsword that also showed up in that episode, one of my personal favorite weapons, just behind the WMG, the energy sword, and the large fists). So, Megas is not without flame weapons by any means, but it also technically does not have a traditional flamethrower like what you built. Doesn't make it any less cool though, and the best part about Megas is that it only has a few consistently-appearing weapons, so there's no reason to say that Megas couldn't have a flamethrower like that. 23:32 Megas was originally a Glorft prototype, so you'd think it'd make sense for it to have Glorft rotary cannons like those in its arms, right? Ironically though, I think Megas has only used an arm-mounted rotary cannon like that once in the show, in S2 E7, 'Space Booty', and it's only very briefly, so briefly in fact that it's hard to tell whether it's actually arm-mounted, but the only other rotary cannons I can think of were radially wrist-mounted (like the arm miniguns you showcased in the weapons pack video [yes I have also watched that too]), and another one that came out of Megas' chest, so neither of them were like the Glorft arm cannons. Even if Megas is technically never seen with arm-mounted rotary cannons like those though, it still looks really cool. 25:34 You're right! In S1 E11, 'DMV: Department of Megas Violations', when Megas gets towed for being illegally parked and Coop starts looking for it thinking he just forgot where it was parked, Kiva does in fact say that Megas is "an 80-foot robot" in order to point out to Coop that they'd be able to see Megas if it was just parked somewhere else nearby. *However*, at some point, the creators of the show took the time to actually measure Megas, using the car to measure it because it's based on a real car (the 1970 Plymouth Barracuda) and thus has a real size, meaning they were able to essentially use the car as a ruler. Measuring Megas this way in a variety of scenes, the creators came to the conclusion that Megas was actually roughly 120 feet (roughly 36 meters) tall, not 80 feet as stated by Kiva (and to this, I've always just thought of that line as Kiva just throwing out a large number instead of giving an accurate height). Jaegers, on the other hand, are still taller than Megas, but not by THAT much; Gipsy Danger's official height is stated to be only 260 feet (roughly 79 meters), but, well, as much as I like them, the perspective has always been really iffy in the Pacific Rim movies, with things like buildings, bridges, and city streets being scaled weirdly to make the robots and the Kaiju look either bigger or smaller than they actually are depending on the specific scenes you're looking at. Personally, I do NOT think the Jaegers are quite that big, and in fact I think they're closer to Megas' size (still a little bigger though, but not by much; by my personal estimates, I'd put Gipsy Danger closer to 200 feet, not 260, but that's a whole different thing I could rant about so I'll just leave it here before I do actually start ranting about it), and Megas has gone up against larger enemies like that on multiple occasions and still came out victorious every time. And that's also not even mentioning the fact that Megas has an advantage in almost every other category aside from size and weight; Megas has more varied and more destructive weapons, Megas is faster, more agile, can fly (both in atmosphere and in space; as far as I know the Jaegers aren't equipped for space combat at all and would be vulnerable in orbit), Megas can presumably operate underwater as well (though maybe not to the extreme depths that Jaegers can now that I think about it, but I wouldn't be willing to bet on that possiblity if I was a Jaeger pilot looking for something to use against Megas), Megas has shown itself on multiple occasions to be *far* more durable than Jaegers have been shown to be, and so on. In my honest opinion, a fight between Megas and any Jaeger would be no contest, not even against the more advanced Jaegers from the second movie, because they're just too slow; they're not war mechs like Megas, they're purpose built to hunt Kaiju, and little else. Aaanyway though, all of that aside, I do like the idea of Megas with Gipsy's plasma cannon hands, that seems like something that could've happened on the show, but at the same time, Megas does already have a different energy-based arm cannon kinda like the plasma cannons, so I don't know. Still cool tho. 26:00 Or, to use its proper name, "That Cool Giant Energy Sword Thing" (and i'm not kidding either; that's the name that shows up on Megas' controls not just once, but a few of the times that the sword was activated in the show, and I find it hilarious every time). Also, I do like your take on how it looks, especially considering that just an orange stick of lego bricks (which is all it would be if you designed it accurately) would probably look a little boring. And that looks like it for this video so that's about it for this comment. I'm tempted to leave a similar one on the weapons pack video because part of me wants to continue nerding out over there, but at the same time I've already been writing *this* comment for over 2 hours now already so I probably won't. Like I said at the top of the comment though, VERY cool build, and I definitely wanna build it myself at some point, but I've gotta hunt down all the parts first though and I don't really have the time or the money rn to do that sadly. Oh, and also, congrats on 1k subs; when I first found this video last night and saved it to watch today, I noticed you were at 996 (I remember that because I was 997), and now after checking again today I'm noticing that it says 1k subs now, so congrats.
@@twood2727 You're not a Megas fan, you're a Megas scholar. I agree with all your points. I focused a lot on the memorable and fun weapons, not absolutely everything is included but it's a solid lineup. I enjoyed including weapons from other franchises, like the Plasma cannons, Pile drivers, the Srapmaker, etc. because it fit with a lot of the parody of the show. Even included the boom box from a pixel art image of Megas I saw with the soundtrack someone uploaded. The instructions are also full of goodies, like the Photonic Stabilizer and renders from the show. Fans like you that really appreciate what I make just makes all this worth it. When you do get to build Megas be sure to share some pics on his Rebrickable page! :) More Megas MOCs coming next wave! Plus a new mech from another show...
@@D10MegasXLR I'm just glad you appreciate my rambling lol; I spend way too much time on this stuff (especially when it's about something I particularly enjoy like this) and it's nice to have it be noticed at least once in a while. And also, while the Megas XLR builds are what I'm mainly focused on, all the rest of your builds look really cool too (haven't watched much of it yet, because I'm far less of a nerd for Star Trek than for other stuff, but just because I don't know much about it doesn't make it not cool), and I can't wait to see what you come up with in the future.
Fasttrack’s alt mode abilities reference the abilities of four of the main five teams from Hot Wheels World Race. The volcano tires and shield reference the Scorchers. The sand spikes reference the Dune Ratz. The buzzsaw cutter references the Roadbeasts. The jump jets reference the Wave Rippers. But what’s missing is the Street Breed. I’ll tell you their car ability. Cars of the Street Breed racing team are capable of deploying aerial radar drones to help the drivers find the fastest routes through urban environments.
@@jettthespeeddemon3884 I know about the Street Breed's sky spy, but I just didn't include it. Part of it was it slipped my mind, other was I already had a bunch of gadgets, and now that I think about it I'm not sure where I'd even put it on him.
There are so many robots I'd love to see MoC'd by you. But these three alone are already a tremendous thing to see. if just to exploit the MEGAS build just a tiny bit more, maybe perhaps the MEGAS Prototype from Episode 1? Yanno, before its head got blown off. It's mostly just a recolor and a new head, but...hey, easy modification, yanno? But really, I'm excited to see what other Giant Robot builds you have in mind, whether from MEGAS or other IPs.
I don't even know how the hell your supposed even start with a project like this. LET ALONE FINISH IT! This is some impressive work you got here! I bet you have a portfolio worth dying for!
