I had this song on a CD that came with a doll I got for Christmas one year. It had this and a few other songs on it. Don't remember what the doll was called though.
SEPTEMBER 2021, my first day back at school from over a year and a half due to COVID was a few days away. I randomly find a video for this band called The Starting Line on RU-vid for a song “The Best Of Me” I remember seeing a long time ago. From that moment on Say It Like You Mean it changed my life. I was 16 going into the 11th grade head over heels for a girl I had been chasing since I was 13. That year was a time I wish I could relive and go back to. I can still see myself stepping off the bus walking into my school blasting “Decisions, Decisions” in my headphones with my baggy Dickie’s and blacked out Vans. Going over and over in my head how I was going to approach that girl who would then later become my girlfriend (now Ex-girlfriend) Here I am the same time of year now newly dropped off for my first year of college listening to this same song and same record blown away with where time has gone. Make every moment count people, you never know that certain times became life changing moments until they are gone.

Takes me back to 2003 senior year of high school. This pop punk stuff was all over the place, and I look back on it with nostalgia and a love that is completely unironic. Just good memories

This song takes me back to the 2010’s. The best years. The coolest cartoons and video games, not to mention music. Pop punk has always resonated with me, not because it’s loud and rambunctious, but because it’s nonsensical and entertaining, as am I. It can talk about genuinely sweet topics, as seen here, but other times it can just be silly and fun.
Yup. Takes me back to high school, when I couldn't decide whether I was a punk, prep, jock or nerd, so I did all of them badly. A time when I thought I had everything figured out while simultaneously being completely lost. Falling for girls I didn't know and selling ditch weed to my friend's dad. Good times.
