You can set the cursor position with a simple left click of the mouse on any empty space. The option for this is in Preferences - Transport - Locate when Clicked in Empty Space. (Cheers for the tips!)
You mentioned that you used the best quality settings for the other apps, but you didn't use Moises hifi settings (their best quality setting), would that not make a difference for the comparison?
I am a Dialogue/Production Sound Editor on a major CBS procedural. I have beren stuck on a 9-year-old version of Protools. I am finally upgrading to a 24-bit system this season and I'm very excited about the new tools that are using AI. I really appreciate your comparison between RX and the Steinberg softwre I've used RX almost exclusively for over 10 years but I'mm very excited to see what ne options are out there. I think that Steinberg Spectral Layers is an excellent compliment to iZotope RX. Each had their strength and weaknesses but with the price point of Spectral Layers Pro at $300, I think that anybody that does serious sound editing and deals with poor location soubnd recordings should absolutely use both products focussing on each one's strengths,
We are in post pro and sounddesign too. We prefer Spectralayers over RX now. Highly recommend. Much better restauration results because of audio layers. RX advanced is only good for insert plugins. But NI (the new owner of izotope) has made so many bad decisions, high stupid prices (RX ad) and lame updates or discontinued plugins. No more trustful.
Since Cubase is a really old piece of software, I understand some people and important people in the industry can be used to their keyboard shortcut, knowing about how to control every bit of this software and don't want to change their habit. But I must say some of those design really feel outdated to me, such as scrolling without focusing on the fader and knobs can changes the parameters, and Ctrl-Z won't undo every kind of step I've just done within the project, including the VST. Great infomative video anyway, thank you for sharing it.
In my case, to get > "Alt + #", on my keyboard I have to press > "Alt + Shift + num 3", since "#" is above, on the "num 3" key and it goes with Shift..., so the last step fails...?
I tried to do this with spectralayers 11 and I can;t use the volume to make the breaths quieter. Is there something I am missing? I could do it in spectralayers 10 and it worked. Is there something different in 11? Thanks
I've got some knobs on my computer keyboard and was wondering if you had any tips on what functions or shortcuts I can assign to these knobs? It would be great if the knobs can be assigned to control levels of tracks and to write MIDI data but I don't know how to do that and if it's even possible 😕
With this software, it is not possible to remove the voice of songs made by playing oriental musical instruments. For example, flute, tabla, violin, instrument parts are also deleted along with the voice.
You're right 👍 interestingly that feature is only available on Cubase Pro tier forums.steinberg.net/t/cubase-13-elements-vst-audio-routing-to-audio-track/876760/7
Might be this? Username/Library/Preferences/Cubase_13/Presets/KeyCommands see here: helpcenter.steinberg.de/hc/en-us/articles/115000245510-Preferences-of-Cubase-and-Nuendo
I understand that the most popular music today does not use real instruments and so the song that you chose works fine. But it would be good if this were demonstrated with musical styles that still use real instruments. For example when you demonstrated the bass it was hard to tell anything on this example, since it is not really bass but rather a bassy level sound that is playing in most of these songs. It always sounds so muddy, you can't really discern much from it other than it is a low frequency in the range of bass, but the quality of it is always imprecise.
if you're talking about LALAL.AI, already did a comparison with SL here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Rekk4EB3f7Q.htmlsi=qT-HjlXSd4kasmen if you want to hear the results...
