I don’t remember seeing that beautiful organ when we visited Kelvingrove. I absolutely loved that building and, of course, the art. I also don’t remember you walking down the aisle, Margaret, to that fabulous music. Oops, I forgot to say that when we visited Kelvingrove, there were so many paintings that I wanted to see and it was such a huge, gorgeous building, that we decided to go on an organised tour. There was no one else who wanted a tour, so we had a private tour. It was fantastic and I will never forget that day. 🥰
Lovely, Matthew. I found you by chance, through your recording of Billy Mayerl’s Marigold, a delightful piece much harder to play than people may think. (I can’t play it). Now, to look for some of your organ music!
Wonderful! I wasn't even aware there was a notation for "play notes simultaneously with forearm". Now I know it's a vertical wavy line with an arrowhead at the bottom. This is a more authentic and joyful performance than Art Tatum's. I know that I'm supposed to swoon with admiration for AT but honestly I never hear the sense of love. This makes me a Tatum-Denier, I suppose
This is great! only things i'd like to mention is: measure 42 adds a flat and goes to E flat major, 74 adds a flat AGAIN and goes to A flat major! The switch to D minor is correct (yet it's notated a measure early 😂, it doesn't come until after the A Major dominant chord). I haven't checked your channel but I hope you transcribe regularly because damn you're good! Keep it up (even though it's like a year old LMAO)
Nice transcription. I've transcribed a lot of the medleys and other pieces from his album "Live at the Diamond Belle Saloon" including his full Alexander Ragtime Band medley and the Texas Song Medley, as well as a bunch of other ones. They're really fun to play but I find he will play way too fast to keep up with. His accuracy at such a high speed is quite impressive once you sit down and try it yourself though.
