Yes, but the SX740 has very small improvements over this one (I just did a comparison on the dpreview website). So picking up this camera (especially on sale, half the price of the SX740) is still a great choice.

Have only just found out just what this camera can do video-wise (I bought it five months ago!), so now I am longing to try out the video functions! After seeing this superb slow-motion video, I'm so thrilled that I chose this model!
Beautiful quality and zoom. It's mildly unfortunate that you can hear the zoom in the audio, but definitely not a deal breaker as far as I'm concerned.
