When I drag the playhead over the clips, it only highlights the one on top. So to paint the picture. I have a long clip on the main row. And a clip on top of it. When I drag the red line that highlight stuff over the the footage. It’s only highlighting the footage on top. How do I highlight both clips at all times (both the footage at the top and the one at the bottom) when I’m editing?
Nice. Doing this type of effect is a lot harder than it initially looks. To really sell it, one needs to treat the lenses as if the light reflection is hitting a planar surface: means 3d reversal based on the plane of the lenses. So we're now taking into account assumed distances and angles, possibly expressions to compensate. People think it looks weird when done realistically as we're so used to seeing comps and the client then complains they can't see intended point of interest in the reflection well enough when the head is moving around all over the place. Irony: like the 'grass is always green' thing. heh
Nice. Great for things like lower-third/interstitial templates. The timestretcher sectioning part is the kicker: client suddenly wants it to be 5 seconds instead of 3 to meet timing? Done. Downstream, so avoids messing with moving all the keyframes in the god-awful Fusion mini-timeline. You could cut/repeat chunk it out in Edit and do it that way, but looks crap and why bother when this works better.
I think this time stretcher trick with Key stretcher modifier is quite easy! but one question; does time stretcher save spline easing of starting keyframes? for ending animation ?
Why can´t they just do like *Vegas pro? * Search for the missing file? Or the name of the file? "This is just dumb, move the file, search for file would be the best option!" Why haven´t DaVinci Resolve thought about this better!? Honestly, already missing Vegas - Pro here, it´s more simply made, better search area & better file back-up system. DaVinci Resolve: Is just more advanced I suppose - still have insanely many issues enough & Adobe can go eat shit, for many reasons. Anyway, thank you for this info, I guess I have to move back all the files & mix them all into a huge annoying *cluster-F!* or re-create all... CSL & OUT!
Okay, I thank you for this video, but its not helpful if the recording is out of sync with its own audio. For instance, I shot myself clapping, but the audio of the clap is delayed by a second to my hands touching. And my voice doesn't match my lips. This did not help solve my issue :(
@@videoeditingcentral Do you have a video on my issue? I’ve not found anyone talk about this. It’s all about syncing video audio to a secondary mic recording. 😓
thank you for the suggestion. all my videos are built in the free version, since that is what most of us editors use, if I do somehow make a video using studio, I'd definitely call that out.
My only complaint about the video, like everyone doing Davinci resolve videos...slow down so computer dummies like me can follow... also, how do you put the animated lines on videos or stills?
appreciate the feedback. will definitely take that into consideration. so to apply this to videos or stills, you'd simply do what i did in the video but you then need to push the fusion composition clip to the Track 2 and then in Track 1, you can bring in whatever video you like. hope this helps.
Why does this exist? There is already a way to speed up playback.Their time could be much better spent fixing the millions of poorly implemented or missing features in this program. They could have had that person working on adding guides to the UI, or making resolve remember which clip you had selected when you switch to the color page, or making Fusion not rearrange the position of everything when you drag a fusion clip into a timeline of a different resolution or aspect ration. Or maybe a render button, so you can render the clip you need rendered instead of waiting for Resolve to get around to rendering it when it feels like it. They keep wasting time adding more and more edit page features to the cut page. Why? It's a useless, crippled and retarded version of of the edit page and doesn't even need to exist.
it does bring in your selected clip into the color page. fusion doesnt act that way on my side with a clip. there is a "render in place" function. are you talking about "cache?" I think you may have a bad install or may need to trash your preferences. Also the cut page is fantastic. Id try just using that for a few hours and you'd find out how powerful it is. not sure why so many people hate the cut page, it's invaluable to my workflow. One thing I wish they WOULD do is a "skip over" function, where you could mark clips to NOT play so you can do a sort of "pre edit" without actually cutting the clips. Resolve is awesome for the price, heck the de noise is worth the 300 by itself.
Very clear and straight forward tutorial. Love your highlights graphics. Another method to create subclips is to turn IN and OUT point into Duration Marker, that automatically creates a sub clip and moreover adds the option to add range based keywords (Similar to what FCPX does). When clicking on your keyword smart bin, it will display the sub clip and not the entire clip. What really sucks with sublclips is that Live Media Preview (Live scrubbing), do not work .. Super annoying and really no reason why.
