Welcome to Kovray! A channel all about board games and finding you you're next great one!
Our names are Ilya (he/him) and Tylor (he/him) and we are a couple who loves board games. We hope to inspire the world to play games by sharing our experiences through videos, blogs and photography.
I believe they've changed the rules a bit with the Resolution phase. I got to do a play-through on TTS with the developer & he'd said you can only pick an area where you have a token. The game is so much fun and i can't wait to get a physical copy! As for what instrument I'd love to master, that would be the piano. I used to play when I was younger, but haven't touched it in ages.
Thanks for the video. I noticed that the objective tile cards have numbers like 0/0/2/3 underneath the objective description but what these signify don't seem to be explained at all, could you clarify what the numbers mean please?
Thanks for the video! A whole lot of great games come to mind because of the dice: Favor of the Pharaoh, Las Vegas, Trek 12, the Clever series, High Score, Kingdomino Duel, Roll to the Top, Sushi Roll, Heckmeck, Dice Miner, Rolling Realms, Skyline, Qwixx, amongst many others. :D
As promised, I sincerely apologize to the flower community. Not only did I forget the names of the flowers, but an ambrosia is indeed a salad not a flower.
AWESOME. Thank you. I will be teaching this game at AEG Big Game night and this video was the best How To Play I've seen. Keep up the great work and see you at GenCon
I rated this video 'thumbs up' for the following criteria: +1 No stupid production company insert +1 Didn't start with "Hey guys/folks this is..." +1 No preamble/minimal preamble +1 No Ikea shelves full of games as backdrop
Love Rolling Realms. Jamey has already stated that only SM will continue to get more realms. Although in the compendium there is a spoiler for the final 2 promo realms coming out that haven't been released yet. I have been doing individual realm tutorials on my youtube page where I do 9 rolls on one realm. I might have to go through and figure out a difficulty scale for them. Recommended combos might be tough to do. More solo stuff in the future would be fun. I already have the realm you are giving away so I won't worry about the giveaway.
@@marceloperettikuhn4764 I’m glad someone got out the calculator! Yes, for the first round of the game, that would be how I understand permutations. But since there are 3 rounds, you end up picking 9 cards it ends up being (66!/57!) which is a whole lot more.
Leftmost "empty" spot, there were no empty spots until the space on the right. I hope that makes sense, if not let me know what timestamp you're referring to, hopefully I can help further!
Which instrument would I like to master? I'd love to be a Paganini-level master on the violin. Second choice would be Chopin-level on the piano. I really want to love this game. I love the theme. Love the art. And love the mechanics. Just a little overwhelming. Hopefully I can get hands on with it soon.
The rehearsal will definitely help, we played with it the first game we ever played and it was quite smooth to get into it. There's work going into cleaning up the graphic design too so I think when the final product arrives it will be hopefully just the right feel.
What games do I want to see as a realm? Let's see... Anachrony, Abyss, Near and Far, First Rat, Whiskers, Villagers, they did Meadow and Isle of Cats already, Takenoko, Tokaido, The Bloody Inn... probably a few others. Thanks for the review. Looking forward to having these on the shelf.
I am SO excited for Luthier, I can't even put in words HOW excited I am. First of all, as a musician myself the theme is amazing. I have read so much about Luthiers (their work, famous families, etc.) and see this theme implemented in a board game is so cool. And of course it is a Paverson game. I love Distilled and both games seem to perfectly combine theme with mechanics. The art by Vincent Dutrait is just... chef's kiss! Nobody does it like Dutrait. I fell in love with his work when I first saw Detective: City of Angels and Luthier looks gorgeous as well. If I had had the possibility to back this on kickstarter I definitely would have done so. I can't wait for the retail version now. And which instrument would I love to master? I played the alto saxophone for many years and I would love to further pursue that. I also would love to learn to play the piano since I'd like to learn how to compose songs as well and the piano is - in my opinion - the best instrument to use for this purpose.
Thanks for this video. I really needed this one since I didn't really know what Rolling Realms was all about. Now I want to try it. It has Dog Park and Flamecraft. I would be excited to try those realms. I really appreciate your overview videos. They are always helpful and put me in a good mood. If there is an Everdell realm, I think I would like to be part of that - who wouldn't love to live in a world of cute critters with their paws and whiskers and stuff?
Thank you for saying such nice things about our overview videos, they take that extra bit of work and we're always curious if people find them helpful!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Luthier, you two! Always love your energy and presentation style! 🎻 (Ilya, you were sort of conducting a three-beat pattern but counting to four at the very beginning-notice how your first and fourth beat are both downbeats? 😉 The faster, two-beat pattern was spot-on, though!) Oh, and I'd love to master the drums! Such a fun instrument to play! 🥁
Thanks for this, guys! This looks like a real treat to play I want to master the pipe organ specifically so that I can moodily honk out my feelings to everyone within 4 blocks of me
Omg bought the game, watch videos on how to play and didn’t understand why we could barely do one recipe each .. Watch your video and realized we were missing the 5 cards EACH TURNS step 😂 thanks a lot guys ahahahah Now I don’t regret backing the expansions !!
I'd love to buy this game, but my wife just bought a set of stainless steel...what do you call them? Whiskers? You know, the metal loops you stir ingredients with? Anyway, that came out of our games budget for some reason, so I might have to wait a bit.
Great review, the realm I would want to be in would be wonderlands war. Love the Alice in wonderland world and I would love to pet Cheshire cats whiskers. Keep up the good work.
This game looks like a lot of fun. I will definitely try it if I get the chance. Now... which game do I play because of the dice... I don't really know. I guess I'll say Can't Stop. I just love push your luck games and that one is as simple as it gets. But I love the feeling of "Come on... one more roll won't harm anyone... Argh!"
Awesome overview, it's my first time seeing one of your videos and really enjoyed the genuine joy you both show for the hobby. I love Rolling Realms and can't wait to get my hands on the new Redux. My whiskers are tingling with excitement :)
