Russian composition is better rendered with oriental instruments, than Beethoven or Bach (as i briefly and unexpertly listened on channels). Funny, how there seems to be invisible ties almost parallelled between geographics, history and culture, allowing easier, shorter roads for sharing human compositions in the 'real world'. All the more challenges for world citizens (and artists) of good will! 🙏
I kind of wonder if this isn't somehow fake. Why no pictures of the orchestra? How come he is just in a tee shirt on a chair with his back to a curtain? If he is so good why isn't this a real concert?

@nlincn @UCLbjzxIDK6VppKlo1iTv9RA Don't ya also have a Cello? If you do then try playing Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto on the Cello. I want my idea of playing Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto on the Cello to work.

I've herd a few renditions of European classic music on Erhus... somehow it doesn't fit. It sounds out of place. Its like it was made to produce different sounds and different tempos that what European classic music does. Having said that I think its a brilliant instrument, just not in this context.
To all Violinists, remove your D and E strings.... and play this piece with only your G and D strings. I bet none of you can do it like this guy cos he only had 2 strings! If that's not amazing, then what do you call it??
@@dulcimoo This player is george gao, one of the best erhu virtuosos in the world, the usual trash movie violin depictions reviewed by twoset does not compare with him. (Just, as an erhu player, all the movements are perfect, no way this is fake.) -Would still love to see twoset react to it, though. He is known to play tchaikovsky and other violin pieces transposed to Erhu, including zigeunerweisen etc
