HD radios generally have better sound quality and digital reception for FM stations, but their range is typically similar to analog signals. AM radio signals, however, can travel further under certain conditions, such as at night when atmospheric changes help them "skip" across long distances. Under ideal conditions, an AM station could be received from 200 miles away, but this depends on several factors: • Signal strength of the AM station • Topography (hills, buildings, etc., can block signals) • Atmospheric conditions (nighttime improves AM reception due to ionospheric reflection) • Interference (both natural and man-made) HD radio, by itself, won't significantly increase the range of reception for AM stations. If you're trying to get a specific AM station, a high-quality AM antenna might help more.
One other thing. The main reason why I asked that question is because that HD radio is expensive! So I thought that maybe it could easily pick up AM stations from very far away. But I see what you mean. There's no guarantee. It all depends on certain factors. Thanks again.
All of the HD features sound great, but I think having more stations available to listen to is one of the best though I could probably also argue for the alert feature.

Hello, thank you for your attention. Currently, the RA-101 is not available in the U.S. market and is therefore not listed on Amazon. We will also forward your feedback to the relevant department. Thank you for your support.
@@frittfrall3220 Hi friend, this model is available in the European market. Please refer to eu.sangean.com/product/ra-101-black-gold or contact service@sangean.eu / +31-77-382-9344 for further information, thank you,
The HDR-19 features a built-in super capacitor that preserves the clock's time and date settings for 30 minutes after power disconnection. Unlike the RCR-40, this model will not activate the alarm if the power is disconnected.
Sangean is my first choice in radios because of their great reception and sound quality. The Weather Alert is a great option to have considering the serious weather climate change has brought us.
I owned one of the first Sangean component tuners and the quality was amazing. My favorite feature is the access to additional content on the HD Channels and the real-time information.
I like the HD tuning so that I can get more local channels than on a regular radio. For instance my local public radio station has a new digital channel that’s the local NOAA weather radio feed so it’s easier to get emergency weather information!
I really like the RDS/RBDS system! It's fantastic when you're listening to FM radio and want to know the name of the artist and song that's playing, and the biggest reason I'd love to have an HDR-14!
Hi, thanks for reaching out! This model, the WR-7, has been well-received in the market, which is why we aim to bring our customers even better equipment in the next generations. The model you saw is still available in the US and European markets, and you are more than welcome to contact our local office directly for any additional details you need. I would love to have the HDT-20 for my home system and the HDR-14 for travel. I enjoy a nearby classical station and would love to be able to access their jazz and other classical sub-stations.
Better reception in the tuner especially in the AM tuner section, not garbaled sound when listening to the AM radio such as a bandwidth feature, and also the ability to receive broadcasts in C-QUAM AM stereo. Also as for the FM tuner, it could use more enhanced reception to receive hard to receive low power translator and part 15, and pirate radio stations even if they are broadcasting in HD radio or not. Also additional Bluetooth for the next generation HD-14 portable radio would be a great additional feature.
That HDR-19 looks fantastic! Love all the new retro-styled radios on your site, I had no idea there were so many now. Landed here because my CL-100 has been a great tool for keeping my family safe, and was looking to see if that was still the latest and greatest if I were to buy one for my parents. I'd love to see a retro-inspired desktop radio with included Wx functionality! The CL-100 is great, but it "hides" out on my nightstand lol. Thanks!
Sangean radios ate always at the top of my list, as they always have a good ability to pick up distant stations (more choices), so I like HD radio for the same reason. That Sangean radios usually have amazing sound doesn't hurt, either, and hybrid digital helps this even more.
