Hey Crickey I get to view your Birthday video as you explore the trails by the waterfront leading to the lakeview, you could have gone and touched the water, I liked the greenery and the Blue theme of the playground leading to the Blue Lake, nice scooters to have a ride around, so I get to see how your brirthday progressed as I saw you on the two other streams when you had just woken up, little more time to reach your birth night, continue to enjoy and Happy Birthday again, I had fun watching you roam around the area.

Crickey I loved the quiet walk and lovely scenery, I never got to see the lake at Ajax or the marsh though I visited Ajax many times over the years and lived there sometimes with my family who lived in two areas of Ajax selling one house and buying another on Haskell Ave years ago. looking forward to my visit there and possible meeting you. some of my grandchildren live and went to school there for a time.

There is already one waterfront walk posted, and I hope to do another next week, considering that there will be a considerable snowfall next weekend and I'd like to film one more video with some snowfall on the ground for this winter/early spring season.
Thanks for the post! I am always in downtown Ajax & especially at that NoFrills & then at the public library, Dollarama & Shoppers in the plaza close by.

Waterfront Trail is the best thing about Ajax. Have lived in Ajax from 1970 until 2017. Was a great little town way back then, now it's a bloody dump. Too many people, and way too much traffic, and crime too. Can't believe they charge you to park by the lake now. Bunch of bandits!
It’s so strange to see the multiplexes or town houses where the old abandoned would have been mall was. I remember that dump being the hang out for all lowlifes and not being mean, they were all gangs and people out to fight or taunt anyone who was around. Drugs and all what a major improvement over the last several years. And but the looks of many proposals for Ajax. It’s finally going to feel like a city and not a town. Which it’s not been for some time.
Amazing square and nobodies in it. I’m sure I could be cause of the cold. But serious where’s the life? Hope the new buildings being build behind help to bring people to this space. It’s a great use of land that was an eye soar for so long. It’s amazing what they did here. I grew up in Ajax having spend most of my times there in the south end. Where this place is now I use to ride my stunt bike through the empty desolate field that was here. It had many weeds and mostly was dirt excellent for bmx jumps. But the adult in me now sees this as a beautiful well needed space for Ajax. Ajax had a lot of potential to be much more the a blink and miss it. I didn’t know they made a bust of Mr. Bailey. That’s real nice.
This was taken in September. During the winter the fountain area is turned into a skating rink and there are plenty of people around during the late afternoon/early evening time. And yes, Ajax has come a long way in the 35 years or so I've been here, both in terms of population growth and development, although more needs to be done. I'll film the square again during the summer when there are some events/activites taking place.
I've never been to Ajax. I feel if I make the trip it will be in warmer temps lol. I always like checking out new places though. How are the restaurants?
Sadly I personally don't eat out very often, the one place I go on a somewhat frequent basis is the Indian buffet in Pickering Village which is really nice, there used to be a Chinese buffet a few years back but they closed down. But I haven't heard anything bad about them. Hope you visit one day regardless! 🙂
your commentary was excellent despite your frigid didgits! i've only driven through Ajax but now I will bring my bike there when the weather warms up and enjoy the waterfront:)
If that's the case, I'm glad to be making a small contribution to the local economy. 😄 The truth is that I need to do better with my commentary, next time I'll slow things down and be more deliberate with what I say. Maybe I can take my Dollar Tree gloves as well, lol.
Watching your videos this evening... Im originally from Ajax too. I lived there until i went to university and still visit as my family is there. Been to and biked through Greenwood many many times. Thanks for the video!
