This Man gave away more money to charity through Newman's own charities than most people earn in their lifetimes and he ran the charity from a very simple and plain office out of his home.
@ I once stood next to Him at the airport in Niagara falls NY. My whole union ( 600 members) were there to welcome the the first female vp ( Dem) on the campaign trail . JoAnn Woodward was her campaign manager is why he was there. I was standing on the sidewalk the last one towards the news cameras that were in the street. So I was outside of the frame. And they came out to the auto's I felt someone to my right and turned my head and was looking directly into blue eyes ... I was going to say a thing about the movie Hombre but he put his forefinger to his lips ( in the shhhh position not saying anything) so I didn't. But my teeth were breaking to say the thing about Hombre. But I understood and respected his wish . As the auto's left so did He.
*"Hombre"* is Paul Newman's finest movie, in my opinion. Fantastic human being. His interview by James Lipton on *"Inside the Actor's Studio"* showcased just how humble of a man he was; by never taking himself too seriously; by being willing to laugh at himself as well as having a wicked sense of humor; and by always maintaining a sense of how fortunate he was to have been blessed by God with incredible good looks, a decent physique, a well modulated and pleasing voice, and the necessary talent to excel as a good husband and father; as an actor, as a very successful businessman, and as a semi-professional race car driver.

Did y’all know he starred as Woody in Cars. And I’m talking about the original Pixar film before his passing. The film came out in 2006. You guys should check it out and you can recognize one of his voices and can see the NEWMAN in the car character. That’s why he so passionate about being a NASCAR race driver. He was so cultured and I’m sure the Black community in the states adored Paul. He was very progressive and anti-racist actor. He supported and donated to the victims of the Stonewall Riots in 69 and even helped funded the HIV/Aids Epidemic in 1986. He was a lgbtq activist and pro Israel half Jewish man 💗
My neighbor owned one of his 1970 racing Corvettes. I sat in it when I was 16 in downtown San Mateo. A train passed by about 15 feet away when the car was starting up and I couldn’t hear it. Loudest thing I’ve ever heard. Then I got to take a lap at Laguna Seca. It was pretty cool.
