Paste in Place is spread based... since those pages are all in a spread, now, it pastes it in the same exact spot. You would have to allow the pages to shuffle and drag them to separate them first. -EG
Is this Script still working? When trying to run it I get and alert saying "ReferenceError: Object is invalid 102" Not sure if I am setting up something wrong or the script is no longer supported. Running the latest version of InDesign 2024 on Win 11 Pro
@@CreativePro it hasn't been updated. Found him in some adobe forums. Looks like he posted a link to the script for someone to update it. I have no clue about programing unfortunately. This would be a life saver for the catalog project I am working on.
Yeah, it looks like no one has picked up the torch to fix it. Loic (developer) is pretty active, so either he has had trouble with it or it's just not something he's focusing on. Maybe Adobe made too many changes and he isn't putting time into that script right now. You could try posting in our InDesign Secrets FB Group to see if anyone has found an alternative. -EG
Nice tutorial. I really don't know who in this situation is making two separate text frames instead of one with two columns. I know there are some people who are doing that, but it is a waste of time and makes control much more difficult.
As always, it depends on the situation and each user’s needs. I often think there is no reason to do X and then someone will explain why they do X. -EG
Um...copy paste the box and resize until you have 12 boxes on the template page. Do it before the data merge, but after the data has been mapped. Now your template will load 12 images a page.
That thing of text out of a text frame is not about the table. It is about the anchored objects. Anchored objects can go out of text frames. The table is anchored by design, isn't it? In this case, instead of one-cell table, you can use an anchored text frame.
Absolutely amazing! I tried so many times the old fashioned way by doing this frame to frame (png to PSD and then combine again) but that never worked well. This takes rendering time but it is worth it!
1:30 - The amount of space between the text frames is managed in a weird way: by changing Layout > Margins and Columns. Choose that and set the Gutter field to zero, and click OK. THEN, when you gridify the text frame, there will be zero space between the frames.

Yes Klara! InDesign is the only Adobe program that really uses styles for effects. You didn't show it, but you can just edit effect directly from the Object style panel. Using Redefine style is a feature many people don't know exist. Thanks for showing it.
This is amazing thank you! However, what is the 2024 illustrator (v28.6) equivalent of the "black and white cookie" in the layers tab, is that now a sub layer?
Thanks. Very useful. All this shows that Illustrator needs serious rework on its interface. Only InDesign did it right. Photoshop is also complicated when we use Layer Style.

Brilliant! Just tried this, but have an issue - I have more than one line of text, so, because it's a paragraph rule, it sends the circle down to the second line. Any ideas?
This is so helpful! How is it possible to remove custom tracking/kerning settings in the text tool when having a paragraph style selected? My paragraph style is at 0 value and when i have only the text tool selected with the paragraph style it says +25. When i deselect it, it comes back at times....
Kerning is set with the cursor between letter pairs. Tracking is set by selecting multiple characters. So it depends which you’re talking about. Also, with kerning, you’ll see different amounts of if it’s set to optical or metrics. -EG
Hmmm... I'm talking slower than normal here. 🤣 If you need it to go slower, you can always set the speed in the player from the gear/settings menu to .75x. Any slower is just comical, but maybe .75x is a happy medium.
