Another example why students should NOT jump "Experienced" gear groping for a BOC. Student gear should have a 'throw out' or a 'pull out' handle on the lateral. Just because the canopies are larger doesn't mean the rig is a "student" rig.
I have been skydiving and its a minimum of 5,000ft that chute should of been deployed. That looked lower than than even before the instruction came into play
At the sky diving school I’m about to go to they throw your drag chute with you out of the plane at 3500 feet as you let go of the wing strut. They only give you an hour and a half of instruction prior. You have to have three jumps before you get certified to jump solo. Is that unheard of or is it normal sometimes. No instructor jumps out with you. Why I’m going to jump tandem the first time.
This why pull priorities are a thing. Even if you arent stable. Just pull anyway. Student probablt would have been fine if he just pulled even if a little unstable
