One question. Are you a fan of the new Stobart Culina Livery? Im personally not a fan but i have pre Ordered the Oxford Diecast Culina models Releaing in 2025!
Hi there I was just looking at some Canute trucks and I used to work for them for over 30 years I used to be on bricks and blocks we used to run out of Durox blocks at linford Essex we used to go all over the country I was from worksop notts we were part of Wilkinson and now it's all gone I used to like working for them I know they had a big turn over of drivers but I stuck with them until the end I was very sad when they finished I thought they would of kept going I still would of been working for them I just thought we had a few depot's I just thought I would share that with you
Absolutely amazing 🤩 nice one I've just bort 12 Eddie stobarts truck n will be making a little yard for my trucks. Probably not as impressive as it's mate ✌️💖
I loved the old KVs - they and the LVs were the ERFs of my youth! I'm curious that Corgi modelled the artic with the set-back front axle cab; I actually don't recall ever seeing that version on a tractor unit.
I've got both of these and they're rather pleasing models. BUT... Corgi got a few things uncharacteristically wrong with them. They're missing diesel and air tanks, which is a real pity. The front mudguards are totally the wrong shape - I suspect this is because they recycled the chassis from the Benz NG (Corgi 66801) that does have round mudguards. The Cargo ought to have angular ones. These models also have Benz headlights in the front bumper, which wasn't a standard feature of the Cargo. The radiator grille is nearly always fitted upside down on these models, too! Although I do have a couple that have them fitted the correct way up, they are far more commonly seen in this upside down format. The real lorry has the headlights beneath the indicators, not above them. If one is to be picky the grille also shouldn't have a straight lower edge, but the headlights ought to sit slightly below it. If Corgi had modelled that feature more accurately the grille would have been impossible to fit the wrong way up. Ironically Corgi got the smaller scale Ford Cargo far more accurate! But perhaps my biggest gripe is the weird choice of such a small box van body for this chassis; a van of this capacity absolutely wouldn't need three axles (how heavy is Weetabix!?). Again this is because they've recycled a heavier chassis used for 66801, on which was fitted a much more believable tipper body. Presumably this was all in the name of cost cutting while also wanting to offer diverse models in attractive salable liveries. Having said all that, I'm still very fond of these models!
Yes I remember when I was a kid I used to have a biffa bin lorry and a tarmac tipper. Typical corgi to recycle and cut corners to cut costs in production
@@JamesBonnettPhotographyModels Latterly I think that was very true. The cab of the smaller scale Volvo F10 tractor unit they made was recycled as a Seddon Atkinson with pretty minimal changes (basically just a new lower front panel to the cab!). In the glory days Corgi were pretty diligent in keeping details accurate and it was sad to see these corners being cut in more recent times.
I picked up an Original Omnibus National Express Airport Bus Mint on the Cambridge 787 Route for Just £10.00 a Bargain and a Half as you say their pretty rare to get hold of now
Methinks, after watching countless utube uploads of American lorry drivers (truckers) this kind of road humour is almost a thing of the past. It seems going by the evidence American truck drivers are intent on putting their fellow truck drivers off the road. Confined to the dustbin of truck driving history are road manners. A simple and safety driving etiquette of flashing your high beams to let the overtaking truck as he/she passes that it’s safe to cut in, in other words ‘your rear end has passed by my cab’ ergo Tis safe to cut back in the lane.... chatting to American truck drivers online they freely admit that simple act has been gone for a long time!!! Sad Times indeed.
