What a beautiful machine. 1983 was the year that I got my first race bike, which was an '83 RM 80, and I almost shat myself when I first turned the throttle and hit the powerband. Before then, all I rode were four-strokes starting with my 1981 Honda Z50 before I was bumped up to my '80 XR 75. I was hooked instantly to that two-stroke power, and the icing on the cake was the authentic Full-Floater rear suspension system. It was like riding on a cloud over huge jumps and over the roughest terrain. Not long after that, I went racing at MX338 Southwick. Talk about addicted. Racing was better than any drug, I'm sure.
@@menow. the wires are probably clipped on the bottom part of the dash or they're coming in from the top. You must have air-conditioning. Extra ducting under dash
I work on a lot of these older trucks and didn't know the 460 was still available in 85. Until I encountered a F250 identical to this one, yesterday. LMC sells good parts for them. But Dennis Carpenter is the best. They actually buy the original tooling equipment direct from Ford. Once its obsolete and they discontinue it. With LMC parts, I've encountered things like bolt holes not lining up. Or body parts just not fitting right. But either place has literally anything you need. To completely rebuild this truck.
@@CPolarBear68 just screw the two pieces together🤷🏼♂️!! One is an any and one is an outy. There's only two ways to install it. Either you have the wire coming out the front where you would light your cigarette or you have the cigarette lighter part facing out. Not trying to be a dick but....
Hell yeah vintage!! Lol I still have my old 90’s model GT Aggressor out in my storage building. I guess I refuse to get rid of it because it was the first MTB that I ever bought.
Thanks for the video. FYI - it would have helped a bit to know what year truck you had, but in the end it looks as though it's the same configuration as my 1981 C10 (I'm not sure what changed, if anything, between 1979 and 1980). Also saw in another video that you may not have had to remove the clear plastic part (the bezel?) and could just slide the new unit in place from either side and underneath but I haven't tried it myself yet.
I said 1984 at the very beginning. And you should be able to tell because there's no windshield wiper buttons on the dashboard, they are controlled through the turn signal lever. And I don't think there's anyway in hell that you could get that out without taking the plastic piece off the front.
@@zmurray9499 This guy just barely managed it at around the 2:30 mark - but it could be a little risky: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zsoN91hUqxY.htmlsi=ID1GA-5E-QkTV-zf Not sure if I want to try that or not. And yeah - I see where you just get the tail end of "1984" when you switch from the shot of the pup. I had to listen harder to catch that, thanks.
Great video ! I started taking mine apart thinking . This guys stunned its not that hard ... yes its just like you did it . Dang iv got new cuts and some new muscles . Poped my arm out of socket to get the 8mil bolt for the starter switch. Just rediculis this has to be done this way . Great video for a step by step and how to avoid hours of mistakes . Took me about 2 hours doing it the wrong way then the right way haha . Thanx ! . 😂
I'm not gonna lie, it took me some time to figure out that the first ignition switch was faulty and how to get the rod put back into the keyed ignition switch correctly🤦♂️!! Your comment made my evening👍🏼
i just found two 40’s agricat mini dozers which are missing the engines and needs new friction plates made up and a little fabrication but they are otherwise complete and $500 each and i have two matching military aenld engines which would go great on them…. so then i’m looking around and i see a struck mini dozer for sale with a briggs and stratton engine and all these hydraulics setup in running order fairly good condition for $2000. and then i’m looking through youtube and i see someone setup an agricat mini dozer with hydraulics just like the struck dozer and i see hydraulic controls and a hydraulic pump for sale on marketplace so i’m considering buying all three and copying some of the struck designs onto the two agricat dozer’s and then setting them each up a little different. i have a skid steer backhoe attachment that i don’t use at all and it’s going to rot away but is $10,000 brand new probably worth $5,000 right now but i would try to trade it for a smaller one to set one mini dozer up with a mini backhoe and eventually have a collection of mini tractors for my kids to use. i already have a gibson tractor and a really nice bkn engine that i me holding onto in case i can ever find a baird beaver.
Those kids will be in heaven!! One of my great joys to just move dirt around and doze trails. I would exhale a sigh of leaf when I got off onto the gravel Road headed towards the property. All my problems disappear. Divorce now so that world is in my past🤦♂️!!
i had a gibson tractor to clear snow as a kid with a 6.5hp wisconsin engine and when i was fourteen i was working with a bunch of other teenagers on the tree farm and my experience on that tiny tractor gave me the confidence to start operating machinery and then right after high school i became a forklift operator for a few years for a warehouse And i drove a box truck and then i got into underground utilities and was a backhoe operator and then i got into delivering precast concrete and was a truck driver crane operator and now i have some equipment of my own but wherever i’ve gone i’ve met people with good experience who know the construction part very well but who don’t ever move up from being a labor to being an operator or a foreman and that confidence goes all the way back to when i was a child on my mini tractor. i think its a great teaching tool for kids.
It scratches fairly easy but I am content with it. My truck gets used as a truck and far from perfect. If you care about what it looks like then I would probably buy new. If you're not very picky you might be satisfied 🤷🏼♂️!! The paint has held up but I have avoided touching them.
I have a hydroboost in my K20 with 1 ton axles and 36” tires. It had a standard vacuum booster system on it years ago and the hydroboost helps quite a bit when you have bigger axles and tires. It may not brake any better than a vacuum booster in a lighter weight truck but it does make a difference in bigger trucks especially when towing. My Mustang has it as well simply because there’s no room for a vacuum booster with the 4V 4.6. I just replaced the steering box in mine to go crossover steering and am getting ready to do this again so this video reminded me how much of a PITA it is to bleed so thank you for that lol.
It was a serious process to bleed. But saying that I wonder if I would have just left it alone and driven it for a while. Topping off as necessary. If it would've been itself
Worked, wipers shut off. But i ended up tearing the stearing column apart and replacing basically all switches. Wipers now work at normal speed. I did a video on the proceedure.
The sing-song of the Minion while fast-forwarding through various parts of the video really added a nice touch. Got my own Magnatrac MH8500 brand new this spring, and it’s a BEAST, lots of fun with it. Best wishes to you and yours with your Struck machine. Respectfully yours, Alan Edited to change “song-song” to the “sing-song”, ciao for now!
@@zmurray9499 Dunno why there’d be any haters- thus far, I’ve had nothing but fun with my Magnatrac, in both the work I’ve been doing and the experience, maintenance and the like. I’ve toured the factory in Cedarburg, met a few of the kind folks in the Struck Company, and it’s been a pleasure working with them. They’re a small company, were family-owned until just recently, and were purchased by a local businessman, so I suspect they’re going to remain a relatively small company, focused on customer service and making a quality product. Thanks for welcoming me into the community, I look forward to being a productive member. Respectfully yours, Alan
It's very tight underneath the dash. The only thing that you can really film is the unscrewing of the disc and pulling the knob out. The button and the disc unscrewing is pretty much all you need to know. Somebody that hasn't done it before is looking for that information. At least that's what I'm looking for, there's always a little trick, hidden button or special tool with removing dash parts.
And tiny dreamer.... and I wasn't critiquing your video as far as length. I was just saying that I could watch more of it without losing interest. Would like to watch more and do look forward to watching❤️
I Have a Honda V-Twin gx670. Same deal ever since I bought this thing. It's one rich as crap and I'm wondering if I got a blown head gasket or if the carburetor is too rich for the setup and I'm thinking no. This is the same carburetor that's been on it from originally so it shouldn't be too rich but every time I put plugs in there it falls out any. Any suggestions would help
I don't feel so bad now!! I was kicking myself for not spending the extra money on a Honda. I would try to get a hold of Honda because they are excellent about handling faulty product. Doesn't matter how old it is. I heard some pretty crazy stories about them making customers happy. Engines smoke if the oil level is too high also. From what I've read the predators are pretty finicky about oil level. Hopefully you get it straightened out.
Why are you mini dozer people so fucking rude. I'm not doing a job and I'm not trying to be a professional quit being a dickhead and make your own videos if you don't like these videos
What is up with you mini dozer people!! You guys are just angry dickhead. I'm not trying to be a professional operator for God sakes. One of my great joys is going out and having fun. Don't watch my videos if they bother you so much. Maybe you could make your own how to videos🤷🏼♂️ but thank you for the comments, that helps😀
I told him to put a large quiet muffler on. I don't know what it is but meant for a more modern diesel pick up. It actually sounds meaty because of the 3 inch pipe.
I have a 1988 Ford with 460 engine I'm having trouble with it starting when engine is heated up it starts fine when engine is cold any ideas what might be my problem
Good video, jumps right into it explaining everything along the way. I wish all how to vids were done like this. I would never attempt tearing into my steering column without this.
Glad the video was helpful. Make sure you look inside that ignition switch hole before you take things apart, the key ignition. That was the most frustrating and took the most amount of time was to figure out how to orient that after not looking inside the column before disassembling.everything else was cut and dry
I will also add... don't buy the cheapest ignition switch. The actual switch at the bottom of the column. My first switch was faulty and I had to . the more expensive switch looked a lot more like the original switch. Take care
Just the video I needed! Thank you so much for doing this!! Just replaced my dime switch & multifunction control switch & this video helped me figure out what we need to do to get it right!!
do you honestly think that microscopic chip is going to make it around the corner and back down onto the valve. The port is covered in lube, carbon buildup and exhaust force being blown out. It's an air pump and not a vacuum. Don't be a douche bag. It's free entertainment
My 85 Suburban wipers would just come on randomly , now if I turn them on they won't shut off unless I turn the key off , I will try this and see what happens
When I first saw this video I thought it must've been a fluke that tightening the belt beyond reason would fix it. Lo and behold, I was experiencing the exact same thing. Spent weeks trying to bleed the system, yet the pump kept screaming and foaming up. Tried vacuum bleeding, the whole nine yards, and nothing worked. Then I tightened the belt so much you can play guitar on it, and the pump became instantly quiet and no longer foams up, also the power steering/braking now works flawlessly. It's such a weird system...
