Hi, I'm Peter and I've been fascinated by Land Rover vehicles for a very long time. A few years ago, I finally got my hands on my first Land Rover - a Discovery Sport. Unfortunately, it turned out to be too small for my family of four and all of our camping gear, so I knew I needed to upgrade to a Discovery 4 or LR4.
However, as any Land Rover owner knows, maintenance costs can add up quickly. That's why I decided to take matters into my own hands and try to do as much of the work on my vehicle as possible.
Through my RU-vid channel, I share my experiences with repairing and maintaining my Land Rover, in the hopes of helping others save money and learn more about these incredible vehicles. While I'm not a professional mechanic, I'm passionate about keeping my Discovery 4 in top shape and extending its lifespan for as long as possible.
If you enjoy my content and want to support the channel, I would greatly appreciate any donations via PayPal or Super Thanks in my videos.
Great video, clear explanation. I need to get myself the gap diagnostic tool. Will need to shop around to see if it's available in Australia. Keep up the good work 👍
Hi. Thanks so much for this video. I am looking at fitting these exact tyres to me Discovery 4. My car has 50mm lift and 30mm spacers. Di you have to modify your car in any way to get the bigger tyres to fit? Have you had any issues with the tyres rubbing on full lock etc?
Peter, I have heard non-reliability of the evoque. What should be taken care in terms of maintenance (except oil changes) to keep it for long time without big dent on the wallet? Thanks
Hi Peter, I have a problem with the air suspension on my Disco 4 2014, I have cleaned the valve blocks front and back, and now she will stay in off-road mode and normal mode, but at access mode, she lifts back up again to off-road mode, any ideas? Oh, i also have the C361a code pointing to the compressor.
I bought Landrover Discovery 4 Landmark in Aug 2023. At that time my Disco 4 was giving me only poor 26 mpg and I wasn't happy with fuel consumption. Then I serviced the car myself using ZX1Extralube engine lubricant with 5w30 Oil. After that my car stated to give 29 mpg and it brought smile to my face. Then about 7 months later I serviced the car again with 5w30 oil and also added STP Ceramic Engine lubricant to it. Now to my surprise I'm getting from initially 26mpg to 32 mpg. I'm very happy now and impressed by the lubricant. Its great improvement in fuel consumption. Happy days. Next time I'll service car using Engine lubricant with 5w40 Engine Oil and see what further difference would it make
You have the same problem like me with Castrol, it's really bad quality, I had a v8 compressor and a 993 air cooled carrera, the oild pressure drops very much with heath...you should switch to motul or even better 5w40 Millers c3, I have that in my sdv6 now and oil doesn't fall apart with heath.
Hey Peter. Is there an install for 2010 Denso set up. I am in Oz and finding it difficult to find anything. Would like to do your install but not Bosch.
Hi, thanks for this video it was a great help! My question is how tight are the air lines meant to be tightened onto the block itself, as they seem tight however with not a lot of effort they will still just turn with the spanner and not get tighter ?
Depends if you tow a lot or have a heavy foot , just change the oil every 8000-10000km max and any 5w30 or 5w40 will be good. Now i run 5w30 c2/c2 fully syntethic because 5w40 thickens too much after 8000km making the sludge everyone complains. Also 5w30 has more detergents good for the turbo cams lifters etc.
