Hello my friends and welcome to my channel! 👋🏽 My name is Eli Lee, and I am a free-spirited, crafty, and creative individual with a love for all things D.I.Y, and the ability to share my experience with others, which is what motivated me to start my RU-vid channel.
I am excited to have you join me on my D.I.Y journey, through which I will be sharing with you the "dos and don'ts" that I have learned from my own experiences, as well as tips and tricks I learn along the way.
My ultimate goal is to inspire and empower you to try new project ideas, and embark on your own D.I.Y journey if you haven't started already. I will be sharing helpful resources along the way to help you get started and I encourage you to leave a comment with any questions you may have so that I can help you along the way! 😉
🔔 And please remember this... "Be kind to yourself" and "Enjoy the Journey".
So with the being said, let the journey and fun begin!
I have a Balsam Hill tree and it's amazing! Not sure the point she's trying to make with the Home Depot $100 tree story.....my Balsam Hill tree was $1200. WAY more than $100.
If you are looking for a smooth/no brush stroke finish you’ll definitely want to focus on the brush you get or consider a roller. The chip brushes I used to test them all was pretty coarse which left some level of brush stroke in each sample. As for the bleed, they all did surprisingly well but from my experience the tape you use does make a big difference. I hope this helps and I will definitely consider doing another one of these videos when I get back. 🤗👍🏽
It was really tough to get the best lighting to show the differences on camera. One good thing about The Home Depot chalk paint is that it can always be returned if it isn’t the color you thought it would be, as long as it isn’t tinted. They are really great about that. You may also be able to return other brands but I recommend asking the store before purchasing them. 😉
I felt the Valspar was a little more matte and chalky than the others but none of them really felt “dusty” per say. As for the scratch test, I recommend prepping the surface for furniture that will get heavy use. This will keep them from chipping. I never did have any issues with any of the paints chipping on furniture I’ve painted, including a shelving unit that I restored and originally had a black satin paint on it but if you are going to be reselling, better to play it super safe.

Hello i have a campervan that has some carpet on the walls and on a surcase at the front. Im curious to know if chalk pain can be used on it? And what finish, ie wax to keep it soft? Have you had any sucess with painting carpet. Thankyou kate New Zealand x
Hello Kate! My apologies for the late reply. I’ve never used chalk paint on carpet so I can’t say from experience that it would work but I’m thinking it may not be the ideal paint for it. I know they sell fabric paints that may work better for that. I’ve seen them at Home Depot in the past. Either way, I’d recommend contacting the manufacturer of the paint you’re thinking of using to ask them for the best use practices and recommendations. I hope this helps and thank you for the inquiry. It’s a great question!

Terrible video. Comparing chalk paint and she’s covered the containers so you don’t know what one she’s talking about. Why is it Americans take so long to say nothing. This information in this video you could have shared in 5 minutes! Don’t waste your life. You will learn nothing about chalk paint
@ J S You are so welcome! 🤗 I’m glad it helped. Chalk paint is really great and I think you’ll really enjoy it. Easy clean up, dries quickly and you can just do so much with it. Enjoy!! 🙃
@raggedyannred I purchased my Teflon sheets on Amazon but you may be able to find them in your local grocery store too. I’ve included a link in the video description box for the ones I purchased. 🙃 The Teflon sheet distributes heat evenly to make sure your iron on material is evenly transferred and also serves as a small protective barrier between the fabric material and heating element.
Just bought our first Balsam Hill tree so your vid was enjoyable 🙂 My daughter has enlisted so it’s her ‘last’ Christmas. Her dream is to be a pilot so your aviation theme caught my attention too!
@T Jackson First and foremost, I hope that this Christmas was a very special one for you and your daughter. I wish all the best for your daughter and I am so happy to hear she’s following her aviation dream. That’s amazing! ✈️😆 I appreciate the feedback and am also happy to hear that you found my video enjoyable. I absolutely love my Balsam Hill tree and hope you also enjoy yours for years to come. 🤗🎄
Not put up properly, supposed to be done In segments to see its full potential, that's why they come tied with ribbon per section to allow you to arrange it branch by branch.
Great question! You can absolutely wash the onesie before hand incase there is any shrinkage but I don’t recommend using any fabric softer as this may affect the way the iron on materials adheres to it.
Awesome comparison video. It was very helpful. I was going to get country chic chalk paint and was hoping that one was going to be included in your comparison, since I’ve been seeing a lot of people using Maybe you can do another review on more chalk paints, or at least that brand. Thank you! New subbie 😊
@Elaine Harley Absolutely! It’s the Brewer Spruce. Here is the link for it on the Balsam Hill Website. ✨🤗🎄✨ www.balsamhill.com/p/brewer-spruce-artificial-christmas-tree
@Nikkenz Graphics No you can’t use water slide paper on a shirt. You will need to use Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV) or an iron on transfer paper if you are looking to print and cut your image before placing it on your shirt. I like using Jolee's Boutique Easy Image Iron-on Transfer Paper for Colored Fabrics but there are others you can try too. a.co/d/i3ePvzj I hope that helps! 🤗
@LaTosha Martin You are so welcome!!! 😆 Yes! My trick around that is using the "slice" feature. By using this feature you can create a cut out of each letter and then line them up the way you want them to appear, and even change the colors, etc. I've listed another video below incase you haven't used the slice feature before. You can go right to the time stamp. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Bc3E5yxok88.html I hope that this helps! 🙏🏽🤗
@Maria Lightning Miranda-Herrera Welcome to the family!! I’m so happy to have you here!! 🤗💖 I’m really glad you liked this idea and hope you enjoy making it. Feel free to reach out with any questions you may have. ☺️
@@EliLeeDesigns thank you very much and yes I do have a question ? Only because I was watching lot of videos but out of what did you make those circles from for the cups ? And thank you, Maria 🥰🥰🥰
@@mmoet1970 I'm happy to help! I used the Cricut Basswood sheets. You can find it using this link @t . You don't have to use basswood sheets from Cricut if you find others but it was what I had on hand. I hope that helps! 🤗
Thank you, this video is a clear and concise video . I will be make one of these onesies for my nephew . And you also zoom in help Even make it better . ❤️💕👍
@Norma c McKay You are so very welcome! 🤗💖 I hope you enjoy making the onesie for your nephew! Feel free to share your experience and how it turned out. 😃 And I thank you so very much for the detailed feedback! 🙏🏽🤗 💖
I am nervous to try to make a onesie with my Cricut, and after watching literally all the videos on RU-vid on how to make one, your video was by far the most helpful. Thank you so much and God bless you!
@T Don’t be nervous! Just remember that it’s all bout having a good time and learning new things. I’m sure you are going to do an amazing job and can even share some fun tricks or hacks you learn along the way! 😉 Thank you so much for the feedback as well! That means so much to me and I’m so happy that you found my video helpful. 🙏🏽🤗 I’d love to see your beautiful creation when you finish. Have fun crafting! 😆
Hi, my friend! Yes, I enjoyed watching you using the Waterslide paper bc I have a pack and love learning the different ways with how to use them! Thank you for sharing your gifted ideas..each video has a useful lesson! Have a wonderful, blessed, safe week!
@Tracey Dunlap Thank you so much my friend!! 🤗🙏🏽💖 I always appreciate your feedback and am so glad you enjoyed this video. What do you plan on making with your waterslide paper? Wishing you a wonderful, safe and blessed week too!!
@Fran Ng You are so welcome!! 🤗 💖 I appreciate the feedback and please feel free to drop a comment with anything else you’d be interested in seeing. Have fun with your project!! 😄
@Jacki Finland You are so welcome, and thank you so much for the feedback! 🙏🏽🤗 I definitely enjoyed that ArtMind so much. I was surprised at how different the consistency was from another color I tried in the same brand but the white was really beautiful and very creamy.💖 I hope you enjoy it too!! 😆
I think my favorite is #1 and no you're not seeing different lol the shades were right, #3 looks the brightest then #1 and then the rest look a little more grey
@Kandy Cos Thanks for the feedback my friend!! 🙏🏽💖🤗 After spending so much time looking at them, I began to question if my eyes were playing tricks on me. 😂 #1 was my favorite too. I just couldn’t get over the consistency and how great the coverage was. Another color I had used in the same brand was much thinner. It’s really so interesting. Love that you’ve been posting again! 🥰
@@EliLeeDesigns we're making progress sleeping more and taking longer naps...only problem is having to keep quiet while she sleeps 😂. I'm finally starting to unpack my shop stuff so the paint and tips are really helping me get it together
@@KandyCosplay That’s fantastic!! Though the keeping quiet while unpacking your goodies I’m sure must be a challenge. ☺️ Glad things are going well and you are finding a routine. It can’t be easy. Stay warm!! The weather everywhere has been nuts! 😳 But in all fairness, I’ll take the Florida chilled air over snow or close to below 0 temps any day. 😅
This tutorial was very well done. Canva ought to be excited with how well you've illustrated the use of their product. You made it look quite simple. Thank you for taking the time to do this. I will now look into Canva for my future office projects!😉
@Ivette Hernandez You are most welcome, and I appreciate the feedback too. 🙏🏽🤗💖 It really is such a great platform to work with. The possibilities are truly endless and the end results are beautiful, professional, and best of all, custom to fit your needs. 🥰
@Greta Lorena Burgos Thank you so much!! 🙏🏽🤗 Yes!! I definitely recommend getting one. So many neat things you can make with it. If you click on the link in the description box it will take you to the one I have but also show you some other colors like champagne and blue that are actually on sale! The blue one is so pretty!! 😆
@Greta Lorena Burgos Absolutely!! 🤣🥂 It’s really pretty too. I almost wish they sold the top covers separately so that they can be interchanged. Hmmm… now that’s an idea. 🤔😅
Working towards new goals can be daunting at times so why not make it fun and do it in a not so traditional way? What is the most difficult goal you are striving to achieve in 2022?
