Doc, if someone got only one dose of Gardasil 4 can they stop that and get a fresh series of Gardasil 9 or should can they get Gardasil 9 in the next two consecutive doses?
I'm a 22 yo virgin and I got my first ever pap smear today. Being the person I am I watched a whole lot of videos before I went and I was scared as hell because I seen so many people say how painful and traumatizing it is. I was extremely nervous when the time came but it turns out it was not nearly as bad as I thought. It did hurt a tiny bit when the speculum was placed and opened (although it was not excruciating it just burned a little) but I didn't feel the brush scrapping at all. I was literally like "that's it???" When they finished. The transvaginal ultrasound I got was definitely more painful, which is strange bc for most ppl it's the other way around. I know everyone has their own experiences but a pap smear can literally save your life. It's easier said than done but it only takes like 3 minutes max. It really sucks that we don't have easier ways to get cervical screenings 😞
I am so nervous I am going to go to a new ObGYN 4 the first time. And it is very uncomfortable I had this done long time ago . I also know it’s painful. And I am not quite sure how to relax . And I was wondering if u have to undress and put on a gown??? I hate Pap smear and putting on a gown . Cause every time they open up u private part it’s makes me feel like I have to pee so badly .and after u have this done I know I am gonna have to go to the bathroom.✌️✌️🫶🫶
Pain is a q part of life. The pain isn't unbearable. But your experience depends on your doctor or nurse. What helped me is thinking off all my sisters who cannot get medical attention, who cant have control of their own bodies, those sisters give me strength.
Ive got mine tomorrow. I think im gonna have a few sips of wine. Ive heard other women say they do that too. It will be my 3rd smear/pap test. My last smear, the nurse made me feel even more awkward bcoz she came to the side of me and was just watching my reaction most of the time, instead of being at the bottom of the chair and getting on with the procedure. I didnt need that support, i needed her to get the testing done and not be at the side of me looking at me and leaning over my entire body like in about to give birth 🤦🏻♀️
@@jesyx5577 yes I think it is because they are testing for this virus called HPV and that can be caught through skin touching. It's your choice to make though. You should call your local doctors and ask to speak to a nurse to answer that question. I didn't have my first smear test until I was like 25
Maybe the person lacked skill. When i did paps as a med student (I'm a female) my patients always said it hurt. When my gynecologist consultant did it to me years later, i barely felt it.
Wow. Really? She doesn’t insert the speculum properly. The physician is supposed to rotate it 90 degrees first so the blades run parallel to the labia. Then once it’s inserted, open the speculum about 50 percent and rotate it back 90 degrees. Then open the blades the rest of the way and lock it if it’s not self locking. To retract the speculum, reverse these steps.
