You would only need the coupler modification for that but I wanted the engine normal tender look with a passenger set behind. The tender that goes with the M10005 would/may not have the right look right behind the engine....but it's a thought.
Yeah I cross over into AF, Lionel, Hafner, K-line, it’s a disease what can I say. The table top is a 4 x 8 sheet. Some of the other videos show the loop around the bottom and the L around the farm and airport.
Look at this earlier one for the bottoms and the led part. The collector I will need to make a video... I know I have it one others... Also look for the video on Gary's Anderson playlist. there are a few other ways to connect the wires and create a collector...ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-u_qo3lkKxxA.html
In addition to this video, I liked an idea you had on your video titled "Elevated Train Layout Experiment" where it didn't allow comments. I think you mentioned using twist ties or zip ties to secure track. I'm also making a temporary elevated layout and the trestles wouldn't stay in place. I tried zip ties and they work perfect. It's a lot quicker to undo than unscrewing it if I want to change the layout, so thanks for the idea.
Thanks. The zip ties made the senior center setups doable. However I’ve found that the trestles or track or tables make a less than even setup causing the need for multiple adjustments and near catastrophes. Looking for another method before next time. Possibly a combination of menards long track and insuring that the rise and falls only happen on straight sections.
What a beautiful set, congratulations! What is the length of each locomotive? They look a little longer to me than a Marx #21, which was also a tinplate AA set circa 1950-54. Great video.
@@ronstrainroom6060 thanks so much! I just received my first Marx 21 AA set yesterday, I measure 12" end to end (body only) and 26" total length coupled. Unique Art was king of the tinplate hill, for sure! Interesting that UA used a plastic piece for the top of the cab. I imagine that was challenging to stamp in tin, owing to the complex compound curve, but Marx did manage to do it.
Wonderful and you inspired me to do a customized detail on my bland maroon 1998. It turned out fantastic and my first attempt at modifying a O gauge of any type. At first when you said and "six months latter" I kind of chuckled. Wait. What? Why so long! Well now I know after having some humble pie. Tasty. My SOO Line turned out just amazing and was an excellent project and learning tool. Went a pit further my adding grill cover grates, and separate ladder rungs along with a rotating yellow hazard light for yard work! So happy and it turned out real nice. Probably about nine months of work on and off. Thanks Ron! 😃
Marx guy here, kids have no interest in vintage tin trains. That`s why I run with Big Band and other 1940s--60s background music. It`s the only way for a Plunkersylvanian to do his part for the Hobby. That was quite the Show, I`m sure the folks enjoyed it.
