Quiet educative video. But wjat happens where the spouse refuses to sign the child welfare and divorce papers for two years now. Thank you

Dependency court (child welfare) is different from family court (divorce). I’m not familiar with family court. Dependency involves an open case investigation of child abuse or neglect. Please let me know if I’m misunderstanding your question.

Ok. I have an issue. For two year now he has refused to respond to Child welfare. They have been calling him but he has refused to oblige. I don't know what measures can be put in place to make him start paying his child welfare. It's the same thing refusing to sign the divorce papers.

how are there caseworkers who dont have a degree? there are a few people in my swk classes that say they’ve been caseworkers, some for years and they are just now getting degree? just curious. Do you have any tips on how to have a great interview for internship?
@righteousroses
@righteousroses Год назад
Is this for a Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree? People can work as case managers with a Bachelor’s. If they don’t have a degree at the Bachelor level then it’s possible they just have a title of case manager but their tasks aren’t the level of a case manager or the organization they work for allowed them to be a case manager due to working in the field for a long time. Concerning the internship- 1. Ask what your client contact will be and make sure you have a clear understanding of whether you are just shadowing or it will be direct. 2. The questions I have been asked were more so about my work experience, school schedule, and if I’m comfortable with the internship so don’t be too nervous. It shouldn’t be like a traditional job interview.

There is a family that is going to a situation that the lady inspecting the house is looking for any excuse to go around the family that is being closer to the child, she all ready lie in the first report and all she said ( I miss understand and that’s it) not even a sorry or anything else, there is people in the social work system that don’t have morals or feelings for people.

Case managers that I know are ethical and do good things. Case managers have to ensure that the children are safe. If something occurs to the child case managers are liable. Maybe there are bad people in the field, but it has been my experience that case managers are passionate about the safety of the children. In reference to home studies case managers have to follow protocol.

@@k.kathleenswanson2089 hi, I understand the the social workers need to follow a protocol but they need to change the chip in their heads that they have total control ( some of them NO all of them) I think that empathy for the family and the children’s well being should be a priority, unfortunately some of this workers act just like some police officers they feel that they can play with your time and life.

@@realidadesyamortambien8289 I agree that there could be more empathy. It does have to be a balance though because people can push the boundaries. As far as the lack of transparency.. at least with removals, it can be for the safety of the child or after removal to prevent a dangerous situation.

She would make an appointment and change it later, all the visits need to meet her schedule. It’s quite impossible to keep a job because as soon as she make the appointment, I have to have that day available for her. I constantly feel I’m being threatened by her, “ your child will be removed if you don’t comply. If you send screenshots instead of PDF, you are not complying”. Is that normal?

There is payoff to the job but it’s not day to day. I don’t know about every agency but the hours are flexible. If I worked 9 am to 8 pm on Monday then Friday I might be able to get off early if an emergency didn’t happen.

Its draining due to the mental and emotional wear and tear. It's heavy stuff. Your clients are not happy with you. The system is set up to keep money coming in, not to help the family, or actually, the children. Parents have more rights than children. You will soon learn, your work doesn't make much of an actual difference. That is the cold hard truth.
