Saw Nitzinger open for Leon Russell sept.72 Rochester ny, Texas Jellyroll Blues was the only song I was familiar with by Nitzinger, yikes!! They were great, and I loved the female drummer, saw Leon 4 times and that night was the best out of those 4 times, Leon at his peak!! Great night, the same show as his Leon Live album!
I've been watching this show again lately and I've always liked the theme song, but I didn't care for the way they altered it in the final season. As a kid I thought "They have nothing but their jeans" was "They have nothing but their dreams", lol
This is no doubt one of the best recordings of a live BB King jamming away why he sings the blues. I had this album. I loved it. Thanks for posting this tune and the album. Mr. King once lived in El Sereno, a community east of downtown Los Angeles. there's a park there now, but maybe a plaque on the wall.
was jammin out on some Deep Purple and figured I would see bout some Texas blues and jelly roll, had this 8 track back in the day, lol..mama if you put your brain on a razor blade it look like a bb rollin down a four lane highway, yea not too sharp, fuckin AA
This tune got me into Nitzinger probably like many many more of us.... bought Mar Y Sol for the Allmans but was blown away at how much great music was on those two LP's.... ELP and Take a Pebble... Jonathan Edwards and Sometimes... and of course Jelly Roll Blues...Jesus God!
