Crazy there's even a conversation about replacing such a proven and effective aircraft without a viable dedicated replacement. The role the A-10 fills as close air support is nothing short of detrimental to the ground forces of the US.

Remember this is only PR move by France and nothing more, in reality 2000 soldiers can't do anything in Ukraine (a massive country). Let's remember history, there were more than 130,000 soldiers from over 50 NATO countries in Afghanistan. What did they achieved again in Afghanistan? Nothing and they weren't important at the end of the day. Once the US left Afghanistan all other NATO members also left the country... I should mention, most of them disagree with the US call to leave from the country. Now, there is no way one can compare Taliban to Russia... what would these 2000 soldiers going to do really in Ukraine? Nothing. We know Russia killed many mercenaries in Ukraine and we see how over time these mercenaries find out this war is not like Afghanistan, where they could sit and take money for doing nothing.
Don't need land attack missles. Escorts with medium and close in weapon system for drones. Long range anti air, for hypersonic. Warfare has changed in the last year, look at the gulf region. Why use a multi million dollar missile against a moving land target thats just launched a drone and have disappeared.
A-10C is still useful for a counter-insurgency war, the US will likely get involved with one in the near future. They will regret retiring this aircraft.

The reason for sweden not buying the abrams was cuz it was unreliable, like the tracks fell off when turning hard and the engine replacement took way too long, but this videos way of saying that its unreliable is cooked, ur just saying it died a couple times. Tanks do exploade when shot at, if not, tge crew still leaves, so saying ita unreliable since it has died couple of times is bs
Ukraine doesn't have competent technicians to take care of the tanks. Russians are making tough unsophisticated tanks and we make sophisticated ones and fewer.
