I just bought this racket, using the luxilon eco rough 1.25mm 24 kg tension, and i got to say if you’re in doubt just go for it its very easy to like and its got a natural harmony to it i cant explain it but overall i get a great balance between control and power wich gives a lot of confidence to my game! Hope i helped
Only issue i have: you should string every racket with same string same tension to make frames more comparable. Or did you? Oh, and incredible how amazingly good top 100 is and what talent and dedication it must take. I mean, top 100 in the world! And then top 20 or top 10. And top 4 are a visible level above those. That's crazy.
You must explain cleaning rackets. It's fine a little detergents to help remove etc on the head body and strings. Just add this your stringer is the supplier the string you asked by the racket and grinet great location means well there's a que, genuine like long way q. So the racket in the cubbard is a need to be cleaned basically I payed quiet enough as strings match the nerd if the frame and so hugy the day I played. Where's the Love? Hmm cleaning but it's time where were we? As and the sooner one begins the sooner the play can rebegins. It rained last month. Generally if I'm this addicted I need sleep locker shoes and thexsicjs my sleep they work my needs my diet it then seems ok to wait two months to hit another ball. To he lesson is learning to tell a joke but the person must begin to smoke you can read that joke selected . Forberm nice
I agree mostly with the reasons against the Unterarm serve. For me there ist anly one acceptable reason for the Unterarm serve: that ist when your opponent will Take the Return Not that far behind the Baseline. But i doubt that there are a lot of Players WHO are foreced to Take ite nearer to the Baseline...
Quesiton: can you give a guidline on how to customize to this spec? Like (1) buy a babolate pd team or lite? (2) add ## grams of lead tape at 12 o'clock? Would love to try it. Thanks a lot!
@@Tennisnerd true, I just thought you'd tell us if there's any difference at all because of the paint job and why did head go for this marketing gimmick. Anyway, no worries, love your content!
the only place I haven't tried to customize a racquet is in the throat, what does lead in the throat of the racquet do? What do you feel after vs end of the handle or wrapped in the handle??
I got it weighted up to 11.3 ish ounces and im pretty sure im switching from blade 98. Hit against high level d1 player and went from barely returning serve to getting most back nicely
@@Tennisnerd If i am a Blade v7 16x19 user, which TF 40 will suit my game? 305 or 315? After using Blade v 7 i am already about 1 year try to find something simillar to Blade. Do you think that TF 40 have the same control like a Blade?
In recreational level, you can use any kind of rackets. 60 year old McEnroe using wood rackets can beat any recreational players who use modern rackets.
Such a nice playtest. The difference in launch angle between Vcore and Blade was so nice to see. Going back to his Aero 98 was also eye-opening, his shots were all much better and consistent. Most similar play style could be seen with the Extreme. But I would say he should not switch.
Switched from RF97 autograph to this one a couple months ago. Took some time to get used to the more flexible racquet, but it’s so much easier to swing than the RF. Easier to generate a forehand cross court angle with this than the RF because it’s a lot faster.
If it helps people, I'll say that lots of folks on the Tennis Warehouse forums have experimented with trying to bring the regular 98 to Tour specs but they all agree this is really difficult and that the Tour feels a lot more natural as itself. I've played with both, though mostly the Tour. The regular was just too low in swingweight for me so I immediately knew I'd be customizing. After looking at what other people did, it sounded like the shortest and easiest path was to just go for the Tour since any additional customization would be much smaller. So I got a Tour and it's been solid. Only issue (and this is the same for all the VDM sticks) is the feel, which I couldn't really get into. Eventually ended up with the Percept 97D and it's been racket bliss ever since.
i found it really launchy (normal 98 weighted to tour specs) there was another review that compared 98 weighted and tour side by side and tour was better... the 98 was just so launchy with string movement at the top being a LOT.... how is the tour? its fine if its consistently launchy, but inconsistent launch was an issue. stiffer strings seems to help a lot (tour bite)
I thought I loved my Vcore 95, and then I added weight to it...and wow it feels so much nicer. helps you get some depth on the flatter shots, making it easier to put away points when the opponent makes a mistake. I think it's for the exact reason you said about the racquet feeling a bit flimsy the more off-center you hit the ball
Is the stringbed same as the regular 98,meaning stiff and weird, difficult to get it right? Been playing with vcores over 2 years eventually sold others and only kept the 100 2023 due to awkward string bed on both 98s. Switched to percept 100d customised to 340stw 330sw...
Great video! Awesome that you included the classic Arthur Ashe commercial and the Head print ad! Fun to see you reviewing vintage racquets. Nicely done!
Is there any chance you could do a video on how to spec up the regular 305 98 to the vcore tour specs? I know the layup is different but I'd like to test out how the vcore tour would feel to swing with my 305
Not tempted....too heavy for me...I originally bought a 98L as I need speed on my swing. Eventually it was indeed a bit unstable so I added some weigh to pretty much match a regular 98... not going up more. I also have a 95 which is quite heavy as well but I use it mostly in friendly matches and sometimes in tournaments when I need more control. It is however the best racket in terms of feeling I have ever tried
Radical Pro is stiffer in feel and has lower launch angle. Vcore Tour more spin, less control. Similar stability. You feel the pocketing better with the Vcore Tour.
Wish it was easier to find these in my area. None of the local shops hold the tour versions of most rackets since they are for a smaller demographic of players. Ordered a demo on TennisWarehouse over 2 months ago and still just waiting and hoping 😅
