Man, the first order had so much missed potential. I wish instead of empire 2.0 it was instead the splintered remains. Sure, Palpatine’s dead. But a lot of local leaders remain in power. I could imagine the New Republic having to contend with about 5 major waring states. Let one of them have survived by being hyper militaristic even by empire standards. Let one be mostly made up of inquisitor remnants. Let another be made up of governors that’s actually a possible ally for the Republic, should they give concessions.
