I really enjoyed this one, many songs I've never heard before. The DJ sometime doesn't always say what the title or singer is. I sometimes guess and look it up.
Love it classic Love this air-check. Station really rocks with a lot of regional and Garage Rock (Wild Flowers, The Caravelles, Love) Makes a joke about Jack Ruby. Tony Evans is awesome!
@@retroradiojoe4486 glad to know someone else noticed. I can rule out I was having a stroke. It is sad after listening to old radio airchecks you realize how awful today's "music"(and I use that term very loosely) and how horrendously BAD today's radio is. Stay well.
Patee was a Portland icon through the 60's and the 70's. During an era when most radio stations would sign-off at sunset or shortly after midnight, KISN was 24 hours. Patee held down the late shift for most of those years, and his unique delivery and playlist tickled our nostalgic bones. He played the current hits mixed with some fifties and sixties oldies. He also used old KISN promotional bits including the bombastic opening theme which dated back to the early sixties. As a kid during those days, that opening theme signified staying up late (against the parent's rules). I always got a kick out of Pat Patee and his "Wolfman Jack" style of patter. Ahh...those days of innocent wonder!
This is awesome!! Thank you so much for the upload. Sitting at the Wedge at Newport Beach listening to this. Takes me back to early 80s listening to KMET doing same thing, but w radio blaring. Please do a thousand more of these!!
At 18:09, Bob Foster's says: 2 Beatles are going to perform at the Madison Square Garden, in NYC on Sunday!!! And I've got show tickets, plane tickets & hotel reservation reservations that you could win...
Nothing against Danny Martinez, but I believe he "replaced" The Real Don Steele. In RKO's budget cutting move after Bill Drake left the station to the little Bald man with a transistor radio in his hand.
Then global took over and destroyed Orchard FM and all local stations... Thank god for DH One 100.5 North Somerset station. Look after your locals people.
She is just okay, doesn't have the right pipes or pacing for the format. But miles better than the slack hounds currently doing the current classic hits format.
