Welcome to the 'Butlers Bike Life' channel. I own a 2023 Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 & 2024 Royal Enfield Classic 350. My videos will include the Super Meteor & the Classic 350 providing information on them both and videos of ride outs here in W.Wales and any other interesting bike related videos. Please subscribe and give the videos a like. Many Thanks
Cheers for that, yes it's a 1979 Vanden Plas in Russet Brown, all in great mechanical order, only used it twice this year for shows,. Not many of them left on the UK roads. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fTgM4hMz3C8.html
@@CalmBiker My first ever car was a1974 Mk1 1750 auto VDP, which I had when I was 16, did it all up and sold it for a mini, 37 years later I had to have another. This one is a 1500, manual. with only 72 left on the UK roads.
Thank you for putting that up, Mr. Butler; it was a very well made instructional video. I have the filter, but haven't installed it yet, and was curious if there was any odd fitment procedure for the cover. Ride safe! FG Rides in Pennsylvania, USA
Hitchcock's now have new English made pannier racks for the Classic 350 Reborn and Bullet (p/n 93215), ordered mine (112£) received them in 3 days and already installed. The fit is perfect (no need for adapter kit), fits RE canvas panniers, welds are nice and smooth, neat paint job, and they are not sloped unlike the previous model w/adapter.
Much appreciated for letting me know. I too have ordered a pair as I never fitted the ones in the video as i wasn't happy with that annoying bracket in the wrong place. Great to know they fitted perfectly (mine are still in the box) as i was planning an unboxing video 😀 I plan to get the RE canvas bags from Hitchocks as I think they are good quality. Once again thanks again for letting me know 👍👍 Safe riding
@@Butlers_Bike_life I was in a hurry to install the new ones! I just put a layer of electrical tape on the fender holder where the rack's bracket it attached; a thin layer of rubber materiel might do the job better though! I will come back and watch that video! ;)
The first thing I fitted to my '22 Classic 350 after the 300 mi break in was the DNA filter and plate. It smothed out the acceleration quite a bit and made the most beautiful induction roar. Then at 1200 mi I added the De-Cat pipe and FuelX lite module. Another improvement in response and seemed like more torque. THEN I fitted the Kent cam. OH Doctor did that little 350 come to life after that. The dealer said I have the only one in SoCal that they have seen and even they were impressed. Next bike I get is going to be a Super Meteor as I really need a touring bike again. My other bike is a CBR1000RR so these little RE's are a huge change of pace but I absolutely love them. Cheers from SoCal 🏖
Also bought these from a RE dealer in the US, poor welds, paint and fit (paint coated over already rusted steel!). This dealer just getting a bad reputation for selling these over RE racks. Just ordered the new English made racks from Hitchcock's, perfect in every aspect.
Glad I'm not the only one. Was beginning to think it was my Meccano skills not being upto scratch. On the left hand side, when you took the lower bolt out of the frame did your frame slightly move out of alignment? I had a right wrestling match getting the bolt to re-thread. Could have done with longer bolts coming for the top of the shock absorber too!
@@simonchilli2088 The previous RE racks were provided with adapter kit since it was for older Classic models; but they managed to include longer bolts to compensate rack bracket's thickness.. (Stuart Fillingham video) I noticed that my rear fender is slightly on the left, but did not perceive it moving while I removed the bolt..
I've been enjoying you channel and adventures. You seem to be about my age and use your bike the same way - cruising through beautiful and scenic environs. I have had mine now for several months and 600 miles. It has been perfect for me. I do wonder, however, about the tire pressures. Especially the front, the recommended amount seems awfully high. I have been running 38psi in both front and back. Feels about right to me.
Many thanks for watching, I really appreciate it. Great you are enjoying your Super Meteor, they are great bikes, I'm just over 1000 miles now. I have my tyres at 32 front and 36 rear and I find that fine, these pressures are specified by Royal Enfield. Hope you manage to get out in this nice weather 👍
@@Butlers_Bike_life My instructions from RE say 41 front 36 rear. I am a bit over size (6'2" 20 stone) so I run 38 on both. I also have my rear suspension set to middle position.
Bought the same from a RE dealer; I should have had the RE genuine rack while they were in stock.. these I had to buff the lower bracket not to touch the bike frame, made custom gaskets and rubbers to proctect the bike, and last but not least, the RE military pannier sit too high not possible to slip the panniers on the racks because of this and also the upper bracket. If you have the choice, go with the RE w/adapter bracket to fit the new Classic 350, you'll save time and they'll be 100% compatible with the RE panniers.
Hitchcocks told me they would have stock of their custom made RE panniers by the summer which would enable the RE bags to slip over. Looks like it will be next summer now. But there are RE canvas bags on ebay that have straps so they would be easier to fit to the racks, not sure what quality they are. Crazy RE don't produce the proper racks for the Classic Reborn......Thanks for watching, much appreciated 👍
@@Butlers_Bike_life Yes, crazy because the Classic Reborn is in production since 2022... they only have this single side rack with amunition panier now!
Two nice tanks!, shame they don’t give them a lick of paint 😁 Partner G’s son has been at the ranges there with his unit (SDG’s) with their Jackals, thanks for sharing these big beasts 👍😁 Cheers Bruce
They last had a lick of paint in 2015 so they are well over due and would look so much better considering the amount of people that stop to look at them and have their photos taken in front of them. This part of the county is very popular with Freshwater West, St Govans & Stack Rocks, will have to do a video of the area.I know the Regt very well as I work at the range, and privileged to see all the military hardware that is brought there. If he is there again, tell him to pop down to the main gate for a brew and ask for Andrew B 👍
Your channel will grow when you ride two of the most popular bikes this now on RU-vid and the scenery you have living in another lovely corner of the UK, these bikes and nice countryside are my most popular films, well done on 500 subs 😁👍👍👍 Cheers Bruce
Cheers Bruce, thanks for the comment, it's much appreciated. Still finding my feet with the GOPRO set up especially the blinking mic. What an awesome channel you have 👍 Ride safe, Andrew 😀
Lovely views. Sound is fine but only on left channel. Couldn't hear the engine too well either. I suppose it's difficult getting everything right. I enjoy your videos though, well done. Ride safe.
Thanks for letting me know...more problems 🤣Done a bit of googling without much success but it could be the mic connector itself, not manufactured properly or maybe not pushed in correctly. I will give it another go with another mic, if no success I may leave it. Thanks for watching though, take care 👍
Wow, what a beautiful place to ride!! I'm glad I found your channel. Looking foward to more content. I'd be interested in hearing your opinion on the running-in process for the Classic 350. Take care and ride safe ✌
It comes pre oil when purchased but you can buy oil when its time for a service. Thanks for watching... www.dnafilters.com/en/categories/dna-service-kit
Hi there, I managed to get a black custom sticker made but I had ordered the side panel by then. It was all a great learning curve for me, not to touch. !! Think I did the best thing just to get another panel. Thanks for watching though, its much appreciated. Cheers 👍
Looks like you got a nice replacement at a reasonable price. I would certainly now get some fine grit paper on the spare and then some compound to see if you can make it good. Especially seeing as it's hard to get a replacement on eBay. You might get your money back 😀
It is recommended to climatise the ECU, as all new bikes from 2015 are now fitted with a learning ECU and will make the necessary adjustments when a different air filter and exhausts are fitted during the tick over period. But everyone is entitled to fit the way, they think is right. Thanks for watching 👍
It's hard to say from a video, you were there and you have more information, but could he have just braked (not aggressively) because the VAN in front of him had just pulled out of the left-hand junction a bit late and caused the car in front to slow? Either way, you rode well and kept safe!
You cant be serious? The car driver did slow and gradual braking, there was no brake check here. Maybe he wanted to keep a set distance from the van in front who had been driving erratic a mile before so braked to keep his distance from the van. Or maybe he realised he missed his turning and braked slowly to reduce speed ready to look for a gate to pull in and turn around. Or any number of other scenarios. This definitely was not a brake check and im not fully sure you should be on the road if you genuinely believe it was.
Not a brake check, he has just passed a junction, probably missed the junction, my father in law used to do this thing all the time, and never checked his mirror.
