@zackkhan8506 it's Level of effort activity type when you assign predecessor and successor the duration will be calculated on schedule F9 option. No need to assign duration
When i import excel its adding them as new activities at the bototm of the project instead of updating the udf nect to the original activity...anyone else havung this issue?
@316OceanDaylight if you id in excel and import back then definitely. P6 WILL add them as new activities. This is not issue. It's basic of P6. P6 identify activity uniquness from their IDS. If you want to update the IDs to same activities than UDF column add their first than add new ids their and when you import in P6 update existing project not add new. It's simple method .

Great video..What of in a situation a delay occur in an activity with Total Float of 4 days while the delay lasted for like 10 days, when do I need to report delay evne in this case?
@reginaldibenne6875 if total float is 4 days. And the calendar assigned is 7 days calendar than the delay impact for 10 days will be only 6 days on the schedule . Better to find out other zero float activity which is also relevant and have 10 days delay .otherwise no other option as you cannot create new critical path for baseline programme.
@mahansor8295 advance setting of scheduling F9 . Multiple float than total float last activity. Try to reduce higher float activities. To get maximum Multiple floats
Hii Sir , When we getting approval of baseline from client/ Consulta nt then from this baseline we we prepare recovery plan and adding percentage of each activity and adding actual dates of each activity? Before adding actual dates and percentages we remove the assign baseline?

I have joined as a planning engineer in Gulf for the first time, but I don't have any experience in planning before. By simply doing p6 training course and some theoretical studies,I have successfully got this job , but now I don't have any idea what exactly I have to do. Can you please suggest what I can do since I only know p6. Or atleast tell me specific job activities of a planning engineer in refinery means what work will be given to me. And what work on excel as well. I have still 7-8 days in hand to be shifted to refinery.
