The best town in Sicily is actually Marsala. I go there all the time: amazing city centre, amazing lagoon with archeological sites, great food and accommodations. Love it!!
Either Olbia (Northeast) of Alghero (Northwest). Olbia is near the Baunei Coast, Isola Tavolara, Costa Smeralda and the Maddalena Islands, so more bang for your buck.
Good video. What isn’t mentioned is the awful traffic and lack of parking both in Ksamil & Sarande. One would be misguided to think that it is cheap in Sarande. Perhaps maybe other parts of Albania having been to Shkodra, Tirana and now down south. Sarande is extremely crowded in the summer holidays. There’s traffic everywhere. €10-€15 to park in Sarande! €30 for sun bed. This is coming from someone who has visited over 30 in Europe alone. Things will have to improve.
Of all of the videos summarizing top spots to see ion Sardinia, This is the best I've seen. Great highlights, good detail of what to see, where to see it and why! Well done. I just returned from a 12 day visit and wish I'd seen your video before our trip. Agree with your assessment of Alghero. It was a day trip for us, but we wish we'd made it the anchor stop for a portion of our journey for a few days.
@gogibgo6148 You keep talking about the "Ocean", I guess it is an American common mistake. There is no ocean in Greece, Italy, Türkiye, Croatia, etc. We call it sea.
Does anyone have any experience visiting Sardinia (specifically the north) in early October? Planning a trip for then but wondering if it would be too risky in terms of rainfall and winds to enjoy the beaches, and if September would be a safer option. Would appreciate any insight. Thank you
I was there during the last week of September and flew out like October 1st. Most days were fine, but rainy and a bit chilly some days. It wasn’t very crowded though, which was nice and happy I went around then.
Hello, thanx for the review, im going to sardinia in the end of july, im wondering if its complicated to find a boat to rent from cala gonone to bainei coast, and if so i should rent it beforehand/online? Is it more worth renting a private one to drive alone or is it more worth going on a group boattour?
I think for a piece of mind, it’d be better to rent ahead of time since it’s high season. The second part depends on you. I really enjoyed having the boat to myself because I controlled the experience and could visit wherever I wanted, when I wanted and was by far my best experience on the island.
South Albania is not as cheep! Of course the beach is more beautiful from Vlora to Saranda but is 20 % or 40% more expensive than Durres, Kavaje, Shengjin.
Great video many thanks! I would also add check out Mineo, small hill-top town in the south-east, great views of Mount Etna and the Margio valley, great festivals and food.
Very well made video! I am actually going to backpack along the albanian riviera later this summer but have not decided the route yet. You gave me som ideas.
You are right Albania my country is a hidden jem of Europe. Thanks for this stunning video and promoting my country. ❤greeting from an Albania in Michigan. I rate 10 out of 10
Thanks so much for this clip. I am planning on going to Sicily and Sardegna for 4 days each, and I think perhaps I should bypass Sicily and maybe do Sardegna for 4 nights and maybe stay at La Maddalena for a few nights as well as explore that area as well. Did you rent the boat in Maddalena as well or just Sardegna? Can you recommend the boar service that you rented from? Also what model drone are you using for this footage, it's very good and the stabilization looks great, thx - New Subscriber
Thanks for watching! Yeah I recommend either choosing Sardegna or Sicily, but not both w/ your time. I only did a day trip to Maddalena, but there are probably a lot of places to rent a boat and you’ll enjoy it! My drone is a DJI Air2s. I love it!
This is far from the truth and dude has no idea what he’s talking about. I rented a beautiful fiat for 50 euros a day. Amazing time and I drove everywhere!!
POOH-LYA is the ITALIAN and only pronunciation :) LEH-CHE not LEH-CHEE BAH-REE not BEH-REE. You've got a nice voice. Italian is phonetic so the way you say it in Italian is the way it should be said in English :)
You'll find that most of the beaches are 'owned' by cafes ,restaurants and hotels. The regions name is pronounced as poo-li-a. Pol-i-nano-el-maray. Some lovely scenes.
Hi! How is the traffic in Albania? Is it safe or do you need to be very carefull? I am from the Netherlands and will be visiting Qerret close to Tirana this summer. ☺️
I think Tirana is probably the hardest place to drive given it’s a big city, but you should be fine. Especially if you’re driving through the country side.
@@gogibgo6148 thank you for your reaction! We will stay at Gloria Palace and Spa, near the beach. It is in a small town. I hope we will be fine when hiring a car🙈
