Good old Haydn. He's sort of the opposite of JS Bach: Bach's music sounds miraculous whatever the instrument he's played on (provided the musician is up to it of course), whereas if you play Haydn on modern instruments you are leaving out the secret sauce.
First time I've heard 17th century music on an early-19th-century instrument! It works really well, the sound esthetic of 1800 was closer to that of 1700 (the harpsichord) than to that of 1900 (the Steinway piano with all registers sounding as alike as possible). Lovely playing, insidiously nostalgic, effortlessly elegant.

There are three kinds of virginals, those with the keyboard placed on the left side (so called spinet-virginals), with the keyboard placed on the center, and with the keyboard placed on the right side (so called muselaar-virginals or just muselaars). This instrument is a muselaar (kind of flemish virginal).

Fazioli was born officially in 1981, isn't a "young" company, and their products are judged the best pianos in the world by a lot of pianists. Hey, if you think Ferrari is all about marketing and you prefer Mercedes, is just up to you.
